A counterbore has been added to six holes in the cylinder block. Longer bolts are used in order to increase the initial bolt stretch, Refer to Illustration 1 ‘The gasket between the cylinder block and the flywheel housing has been eliminated, An anaerobic sealant is being used to seal the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. A thickness of 0.7 mm (0.0276 inch) has been added to the flywheel housing. This thickness offsets the thickness of the old gasket. Adaptable To: The changes are adaptable to all 3500 and G3500 Engines. Table 1 lists the serial number effectivity for the changes that were made to the cylinder block.
