New Zealanders will find out Thursday whether they will keep the
British Union Jack on their flag or replace it with a silver fern after
more than 2 million people voted in a nationwide ballot.
Voters were asked to choose between their current flag, which has been the
national symbol since 1902, and a new design that was winnowed from more
than 10,000 entries submitted by the public.

Those entries ranged from the serious to the silly, like one that featured a
kiwi bird shooting a green laser beam from its eye. In the end, the winning
design was a hybrid of the old and new, keeping the Southern Cross star
formation while replacing the British symbol with a native plant.

Deepika Padukone will not be celebrating Holi

Holi is around the corner, and everyone is gearing up for a fun-filled time.
Among them is Deepika Padukone, who will not be celebrating the festival of
colours in the city as she is away in US filming for her Hollywood debut film
xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage.
Since the Bajirao Mastani actress is not in town this time to celebrate the
festival of colours, she reminisces all the fun she has every time Holi is
around. Deepika says, Its time for Holi, one of my favourite Indian festivals.
I love it because it is all about having unadulterated fun with friends, family
and even strangers. I remember celebrating the festival when I was a kid. I
used to play Holi with friends from my building every year. I loved playing
with colour and gobbling up the delicacies our mothers made. And of course,
no Holi celebration was complete without music. It was all about getting
together, laughing and enjoying with the people you love.

felt parts of the media operated like a reverse Pravda. If a story fitted their
agenda, it went in. If it didnt, it was spiked. It may have been hard for them
to ignore Mark Carney or the archbishop of Canterbury, so they spun against
them. But others who have come out in favour of staying in the EU including
the OECD, the IMF, Shell, BMW and many more have been almost totally
ignored. In addition to the invented stories, this is lying and misinformation
by omission.
