GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (World Youth Day)

for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of

the Holy Spirit he was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became
man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he
suffered, died and was buried and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come
again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his
kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
Who with the Father and the Son he is adored and glorified.
Who has spoken through the Prophets. I believe in one holy
catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the
forgiveness of sins. I look forward to the resurrection of the
dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY

Lord Jesus Christ, You have taught us to be merciful like the
heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees You sees
Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze
freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money;
the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in
created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal and assured
Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to
each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan
woman; If you knew the gift of God! you are the visible face of
the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above
all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible
face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that
your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that
they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let
everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and
forgiven by God. Send your spirit and consecrate every one of
us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year
of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed
enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty
to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy,
you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever. Amen.

by the power of Your love (*).

HOLY COMMUNION (old, p.188, # 323)

God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ

and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

Lord I come to You. Let my heart be changed, renewed.

Flowing from the grace that I found in You. Lord I come to
know. The weaknesses I see in me will be stripped away by
the power of Your love.

I will come to you in the silence; I will lift you from all your
fear. You will hear My voice. I claim you as My choice. Be
still, and know I am here.

Alleluia

GOSPEL: Luke 15:1-32

CREED:
I believe in One God, the Father, Almighty, maker of heaven
and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one
Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the
Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true
God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with
the Father, Through him all things were made. For us men and

*Hold me close; let Your love surround me. Bring me near;

draw me to Your side. And as I wait, I rise up like the eagle.
And I will soar with You; Your Spirit leads me on in the
power of Your love
Lord unveil my eyes. Let me see You face to face the
knowledge of Your love as You live in me. And Lord renew
my mind, s Your will unfolds in my life, in living every day

I am hope for all who are hopeless. I am eyes for all who
long to see. In the shadows of the night, I will be your light.
Come and rest in Me.
*Do not be afraid, I am with you. I have called you each by
name. Come and follow Me. I will bring you home. I love
you and you are mine.

I am strength for all the despairing; Healing for the ones

who dwell in shame. All the blind will see, the lame will all
run free; And all will know My name. (*)
I am the Word that leads all to freedom; I am the peace the
world cannot give. I will call your name, embracing all your
pain. Stand up, now, walk, and live. (*)

arrangements in order to protect himself from what he can

see is theinevitable result of that sentence, namely the loss
of his employment. "I have decided what to do, so that
people may receive me into theirhouses when I am put out
of the stewardship." The sentence of the master of the
house has not yet come into effect, but the steward can
foresee that it will, and he can foresee it in time! This is
what is important! If we, too, have foresight, then we will be
able to appear with completeconfidence before the eternal
Judge when he will say to us: "Turn in theaccount of your
stewardship!

Post Communion
*Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch
like me. I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind, but
now I see.

What does 'unrighteous mammon' mean? The answer is

not to be searched for outside the context of this parable.
So how does the unfaithful steward dishonestly earn
money? Simply by forgiving a part of the debt owed byhis
master's debtors. Therefore, this is what we must do as
well, butnot in the same way. We must not act as sons of
this world, but ratheras sons of light! This means that we
have to forgive the debts of those who owe us something
due to the offenses they commit against us. In short, we
have to do what the Lord himself taught us to do in his
prayer: "Our Father... Forgive us our debts, as we also have
forgiven ourdebtors." (Mt. 6:12)

RECESSIONAL (old, p.157, #266)

As I sing my hearts thanksgiving and my eyes look
heavenward, how the stars you flung like jewels bid your
welcome, shine your light. As I marvel at your moonrise, Im
in awe yet I ask. What am I that you should love me, and
hold me as your dearest love of all.
You crown me with honour and glory, and you set all things
under my feet. You have made me little less than angels
even if I fly often away.

We have to forgive everyone who has offended us! For, in

this way, wewill make friends: "Make friends for yourselves
by means of unrighteous mammon..."
Forgiveness
produces the unity of all the believers in Christand, through
this unity, the unity of all men and women on earth! Thereis
still time! It is not too late to forgive the person who
offended us! At this moment, it is still not too late, but the
day will come, perhaps very soon, when there will be no
more forgiveness possible... Then itwill be too late; it will
be the moment of eternity, when it will benecessary that we
turn in the account of our stewardship! On that day,we will
no longer be able to find unrighteous mammon: we will be
without it, for there will be no more forgiveness! "Make
friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous mammon,
so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal
habitations.

In my anxious and browbeaten moments you comfort me,

fill me with peace. When my foes threaten, dare, and
surround me, youre my strength youre my light and my
shield.

REFLECTION

We can clearly see that this parable is addressed to us, we

who are stillliving! For the sentence of the rich man, he for
whom the dishonest steward works, doesn't apply
immediately:
the steward still has time to make

285th day and 41st Sunday of

the Jubilee year of Mercy

'twas Grace that taught, my heart to fear. And grace, my

fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear,
the hour I first believed. (*)

Jesus teaches his disciples: he pursues his catechesis

through the use of a new parable, one which he will use to
direct their minds to therealities of Heaven; and this he will
accomplish by starting with theterrestrial realities to which
we are most attached: money and profit ofall kinds. "There
was a rich man who had a steward... He said to him,Turn
in the account of your stewardship..." At the end of our life,
the Lord will also say to each one of us: "Turn in the
account of your stewardship! I filled you with grace and
talents of all kinds, what didyou do with them? It is time!"
Or rather, the Lord will say, "There is no more time!
Henceforth you will no longer be steward"

ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER

In the course of today's Eucharistic celebration, we are

going to receive within ourselves He who was made the
servant of all: Jesus! Let usserve him as well! Let us be
"other Christs" and follow his example! Let us forgive our
enemies, as Jesus forgave his enemies! Let us forgivethe
debts of our debtors: let us not be attached to money! Let
us serve only God, and not money! May Mary help us to
find the way of salvation, which is to follow her divine Son!
