WAMAT

FOR CLEAN AND SAFE

OIL-WATER-SEPARATION

WAMAT
THE SUM OF MORE THAN 10 YEARS OF
KNOW-HOW IN CONDENSATE TECHNOLOGY
Take a look around your compressor station.
A complete compressor station comprises, aside from the
compressor, the air receiver and refrigeration dryer
fully automatic condensate separator and the condensate
processing system.

You can take safety for granted.

Safeguards against oil leaking into the sewage system

Large oil overflow for clotted oils.

No oil backup into the filter

Two-fold filter monitoring: Integrated level

indicator and optical reference turbidity for
comparison of samples.

Optional fault message transmission to a control

system by an electrical alarm sensor on the level
indicator

Why you, too, need a processing system!

Frequently, condensate consists of 99% of water and only
1% oil. Therefore, processing the oil emulsive condensate
on site is always more economical than cost intensive
disposal by specialist companies. An important point is,
that your system complies with the applicable laws and
regulations. Contained within the Water Resources Act, the
legislation stipulates water processing according to the
"generally accepted engineering Standards". It is prohibited to discharge waste water containing typically more than
20 mg/l mineral oil into the sewage system. The solution:
WAMAT.

up to 4 condensate

For our environment, only the best is good

enough.
WAMAT is an oil-water separation system for dispersed
condensates, proven for many years and continually
further developed. Safe processing is maintained and
discharge of the processed water into the sewage system
is possible without any problems in accordance with
appropriate regulations
The WAMAT is available in 6 sizes, ready-to-connect,
and is designed space saving and user friendly. In case of
utilisation in frost- hazard areas, a separate heating unit
assures problem- free processing.

WAMAT
PROBLEM-FREE AND ECONOMICAL,
SAFE AND ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY
Economy goes without saying

Appropriate sizes to suit the installation, no energy costs

Simple installation: No electrical power required

Low maintenance: Only one weekly inspection

Pay back possible within a few months

You can trust the condensate specialists

The fact that WAMAT comes from a condensate specialist is your guarantee for safety, economy and technical
know- how. Since 1982, BEKO has been engaged
exclusively in the development and manufacture of
condensate separation and processing systems. That
is why the WAMAT system is the world-leading
oil-water seperator.
BEKO products have become the industry standard due to
their reliability, even under extreme conditions. Continual
research and optimisation, innovation and keeping in
touch with the market guarantee that BEKO products
offer the best possible solutions for their respective
applications. Our condensate drain BEKOMAT, oil
water separator WAMAT and the emulsion splitting
system BEKOSPLIT are setting the standard for
condensate engineering world-wide.
BEKO TECHNOLOGIES is certified in accordance with
DIN ISO 9001.

Filter change: the

reference test shows
you when to do it

A word about filters

In order to guarantee
an even quality of your
condensate
processing
system, a change of the
preliminary filter and the
adsorption filter is required
from time to time. The
reference turbidity test tells you when. Due to the user-friendly
design of the WAMAT, the filter change is a simple task.
OEKOSORB replacement filters within the BEKO inspection
seal have been specially developed. Raw materials,
manufacture and granulation are exactly matched to the
WAMATprocessing system.
They guarantee:

consistently maintained performance of your

condensate processing system

functional reliability

efficient and economical performance

WAMAT
THE FUNCTION: YOUR GUARANTEE FOR
ECONOMICAL CONDENSATE PROCESSING
The oil emulsive condensate enters the pressure relief
chamber of the WAMAT under pressure. There, excess
pressure is relieved without creating turbulence in the
separation container. The solid pollutants carried with the
condensate collect in the removable sediment container.
In the separation container, the oil rises to the surface and
is skimmed off via the adjustable oil overflow into the
overflow protected oil reservoir (included in the scope of
delivery). The condensate, thus pre-cleaned now flows
through an oleophilic preliminary filter and then through
an adsorption filter (WAMAT 6 & 8 : two adsorption
filters). The preliminary filter bonds the remaining oil
droplets to its material, the adsorption filter retains any
residual oil.

Function in detail:
1. The dirt collector holds back solid pollutants
2. The oil/water separation chamber
3. Prefilter

WAMAT - A GAIN FOR YOU
AND FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT
How does your pressurised air system work?
Studies of trade associations and the compressor market show
that the majority of all compressors used for pressurised air or
gas are oil lubricated!
The laws of physics always mean condensate!
Condensate is inevitable in the production of pressurised air.
This condensate is more or less polluted with oil, dirt and other
harmful contamination. Oil contents of up to 10,000 mg/l are
not uncommon.

Processing of condensate where it accumulates!

Much simpler and, most importantly, more economical is
processing of condensate right there where it accumulates.
The oil- water separators WAMAT have established
themselves as the standard and offer "state-of-the-art"
processing.

Our environment can't tolerate condensate!

Mineral oils contained in condensate are very difficult to
degrade biologically and impair the oxygen intake and sludge
digestion in water treatment plants. The effectiveness of the
entire water processing system is reduced, resulting in
endangering of the biological balance and hazards to human
health.
The law is watching!
The regulations are clear. The Water Resources Act stipulates
the regulations for the use of water resources. The discharge
of compressor condensates is prohibited without suitable
processing, waste water containing typically more than 20
mg/l mineral oil into the sewage system. The legislation
demands water processing corresponding at the very least to
the "generally accepted engineering standards". This means a
reduction to max. 20 mg/l for hydrocarbon as a guide
parameter for mineral oils. Regionally, these values may be
significantly lower. Violations are connected with severe
punishments for companies and their responsible personnel.
"Disposal" is yesterdays technology!
Disposal carried out by companies specialising in this field
is safe but expensive. Disposal costs of condensate are
considerable. In addition, costs for certified collection
tanks, monitoring devices, and installation work, etc. are
incurred. Thereafter the "Duty of Care" act applies.

Increased capacity figures for WAMAT

Capacity tests and our long market experience have given us the opportunity to re-allign our capacity figures for BEKOMAT and
WAMAT. In particular we have recognised the different climatic conditions in the world-wide areas where BEKO products are used and
adjusted the performance accordingly. To find the right WAMAT oil-water-separator for an application located somewhere on the globe,
please refer to the three climate zones:
Green dry and/or cold climate (f.e. northern Europe, Canada, northern USA, central Asia)
Blue mild climate (f.e. middle and southern Europe, middle America)
Red wet, tropical climate (f.e. South-East Asia coastal regions, Pacific, Amazon and Congo)
If you need further information about the three BEKO climate zones, contact your local BEKO dealer, BEKO subsidiary, BEKO Germany
or look into our website at http://www.beko.de
