TSR SETS AND EXPANSIONS

Coral Elf/Dwarf/Goblin/Lava Elf/Amazon

Monsters:
The old Monsters and
Amazons kickers are the
tricky ones, since there
are five different races of
monsters possible in any
box. The rarity of the
monsters in the Monsters
and Amazons kickers is as
follows:
Coral Elf Common:
Gryphon, Sprite Swarm,
Tako
Dwarf Common:
Androsphinx, Gargoyle, Roc
Goblin Common: Harpy, Shambler, Troll
Lava Elf Common: Drider, Hell Hound, Rakshasa
Amazon Common: Centaur, Hydra, Medusa
Rare: Coral Giant, Umber Hulk, Death Naga,
Beholder, Chimera.
Chance of getting a rare in a box about 10%,
chance of getting a particular rare is about 2%,
chance of getting a particular common is about 6%.

Dragon Dice Battle Box (1996)

the dragonkin. Each set

contained 18 randomly
assorted dice of various
rarity: 6 magical items (4siders), twelve dragonkin
dice (6-siders), two minor
terrain dice (small 8siders), one magic artifact
die (10-sider) and an 18
pages Magestorm rules
folder.
The Magestorm expansion
is now out of print and
will not be released again. The rules are
superseded. However, the minor terrains, magic
items and dragonkin have all been released as their
own expansions by SFR.

each player. Each set contains 18 randomly
assorted dice: fifteen 6 siders, two 8-siders
(terrains) and one 12-sided die (dragon) of various
rarity. There are no monsters in the box (the are
included in kicker sets). Also includes was a fullcolor game board, a 16 page full-color rulebook for
beginners (letter sized), two reference cards, and a
48 page colored advanced rulebook (booklet,
revised rules).

Magestorm! (1996)

The Magestorm! TSR set introduced magical items

and magical artifacts to the Dragon Dice Game. It
also introduced new minor terrains and new
elemental creatures akin to the mighty dragons:

Dragon Dice Checklist Races [sept 2016]

Acolytes of the Eldarim

(2009): This new race
includes 1-health
commons, 2-health
uncommons, and 3health rares, along with
new racial abilities and
spells. Like the
DragonHunters and
DragonMasters, these
dice are monochromatic,
and available in black,
blue, gold, green, or red.
(Upon closer inspection,
the dice themselves are a combination of ivory and
the main color, which distinguishes themselves
from Dragonkin).

For the Acolytes of the Eldarim kicker, the box

contains 11 dice (6-siders). Inside each box are 2
rares, 3 uncommons and 6 commons, randomly
distributed. The rarity is flat. In total there are 5
different colors of Eldarim (blue, black, yellow,
green and red).
Dragonkin Expansion (2009)
Re-releases of the Dragonkin, which are 6-sided
one-color units that can be summoned to a terrain
and fight with the army there. Dragonkin come in
1-health commons, 2-health uncommons, 3-health
rares, and 4-health Dragonkin Champions.
Dragonkin will not fight against a dragon of the
same color. For every full three points of other
units a player brings to a game, he is allowed (but
not required), to bring one point of dragonkin.
Dragonkin are part of the Advanced Rules and start
in the Summoning Pool.
For the Dragonkin package, the dice are random.
Each box contains 1 champion, 2 rares, 3
uncommons and 6 common dragonkin. In total
there are 5 different colors and 3 different types
for the commons, uncommons, and rares. The
Dragonkin Champions are simply in the 5 different
colors. The rarity is flat.

DragonCrusader and DragonZealots (2011). This is

a fixed set of big 4-sider dice.
DragonCrusader and DragonZealots are Eldarim
Champions (along with
DragonLords/DragonMasters and
DragonSlayers/DragonHunters) and have the
ability to control dragons. Each DragonCrusader or
DragonZealot that rolls its SFR logo allows the
acting player to control one dragon. The dragon
may be held motionless (i.e.: it is not rolled) and
the army can attack it normally. Or the dragon may
be made part of the attack against other dragons.
For the 3 Eldarim champions packages, the dice in
each is fixed, you always get all 5 elemental colors
plus the white.
Battlefields (2012): Includes two new basic
terrains types, the Feylands (Fire and Water) and
the Wastelands (Fire and Air). The terrains printed

Dragon Dice Checklist Races [sept 2016]

in white ink have the

same four 8th Face
types (City, Standing
Stones, Temple,
Tower) and are a part
of the basic game.
Also released as a
part of this expansion
are minor terrain
versions of these new
terrains (as well as
Coastlands, Flatlands,
Highlands,
Swamplands). These
minor terrains represent lesser objectives that may
give your army a needed boost if you're willing to
take a risk. Minor terrains are part of the Advanced
Rules.
The Battlefields expansion also contains special
terrains printed in gold ink with new 8th Faces: the
Dragon's Lair, Grove, Castle, and Vortex. These
special gold-printed terrains can only be placed at
the Frontier. They can never be home terrains, so
there will only be a maximum of one special terrain
in play during a game. Otherwise, special terrains
act just like normal terrains, except than their icon
progression is set by the eighth face icon, not by
their elemental colors.
Overall flat rarity. As the box says, you get one
Feylands, one Wastelands, 2 Special Terrains, and 3
minor terrains. Here's the full breakdown:
Wasteland: One in the box, equal chance of one of
4 normal Wastelands (City, Standing Stones,
Tower, Temple) or one of 4 special terrains (Castle,
Dragons' lair, Grove, Vortex).
Feyland: One in the box, equal chance of one of 4
normal Wastelands (City, Standing Stones, Tower,
Temple) or one of 4 special terrains (Castle,
Dragons' lair, Grove, Vortex).
Specials: Equal chance of Coastland, Flatland,
Highland, Swampland colors, and equal chance of
one of 4 special eighth faces (Castle, Dragons' lair,
Grove, Vortex).
Minor terrains: equal chance of each of the 6 color
combos, and equal chance of each special face
type. So 3 out of 24 different types.
Battle Chest/Items expansion (2010): this
expansion enables you to get some decent magical
items. It replaces the magic items which were
included in the old Magestorm! expansion.
Each Battle Chest expansion box contains 8 dice in
total, randomly distributed. Inside are 2 magical
artifacts (10-siders; there are 5 types of artifacts in
5 colors, so 25 in total) and 6 random magical
items (4-siders). The magic items comes in 2 rares,
2 uncommons and 2 commons. There are 5 types

in 3 different sizes
(large, middle, small)
and 5 colors. So in
total there 5 x 15 =
75 magic items.
Together with the
artifacts, there are
100 different dice in
the set. Since there
are only 2 artifacts +
6 magic items in the
set, you need at
least 13 boxes for a
complete magic set.

Rarites of the dice

By Chuck Pint, Dec 18, 2012 SFR Forum

http://sfr-inc.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=3975
For all the kickers and starters, the rarity of the
each type of common and uncommon is equal. For
the last two kickers done by TSR (Frostwings and
Scalders), a non-equal rarity was introduced for the
rares. For all other kickers and for any starter, all
rares are equally likely.
Note that the rarity is set by the mold setup when
the dice where produced. So SFR cannot fix the
"rarity" problem without making all new molds.
You can see a simulation of the contents of the
kickers and starters at the SFR website, see:
http://www.dragondice.com/productsimulator.ph
p
With the 2-player starters out, the chance of
getting a common monster for that race is 30%
(9/30), a rare monster is 10% (3/30).
With the new racial kickers for the Dwarves,
Goblins, Coral Elves, Lava Elves, and (someday)
Amazons, the rarity will change slightly, and the
missing "fifth" monsters will be out. The new fifth
monsters will be uncommon in rarity. The rarities
will be 25% for a common (10/40), 15% for an
uncommon (6/40), and 10% for a rare monster
(4/40).
For Frostwings rares the rarity is:
Most Common : Vindicator 37.1% (26/70)

Uncommon : Assailer 20.0% (14/70)
