CSC Introduces Integral

June 21, 2010 By Deepika Mala TMCnet Contributor

Integral, a comprehensive software suite for all lines of insurance, including end-toend policy/group management, product configuration and business analytics
capabilities has been launched by CSC (News - Alert).
To enable licensees to implement quickly and operate cost-effectively, the portable
Java-based Integral architecture integrates multi-line, multilingual and multicurrency insurance processing for life insurance, annuities/pensions, property and
casualty/general insurance and group insurance administration.
CSC's collective insurance expertise, represented by Integral, is the outcome of a
strategic innovation program to expand the technology platform choices for
LIFE/Asia, POLISY/Asia, POLISY/J, LIFE/J and GROUP/Asia family of CSC software.
In more than 34 countries, for a client base of nearly 125 companies, those
systems, supported by local, dedicated service delivery teams, are processing at
least 65 million policies and groups.
'Insurers are seeking systems that are, on the one hand, highly integrated,
leveraging a common architecture and data model. On the other hand, they should
be able to be implemented solutions in a phased, function-by-function or modular
approach. The insurers will experience better results from finding modules that are
pre-integrated for easier deployment and reduced implementation risks,' Kimberly
Harris-Ferrante, vice president, distinguished analyst and IR chief of
Research, Gartner (News - Alert), said. 'Taking this approach, insurers can find
improved results including faster return on investment, easier straight-throughprocessing capabilities, and overall reduced project risks.'
Integral is considered as the best option for multinational insurance firms seeking a
single platform for regional or international operations; domestic insurance firms
wanting to launch a new product quickly without disrupting their existing
processing; insurers needing a self-contained insurance administration solution for
quick start-up of new ventures; and multi-line insurers looking for a complete, lowmaintenance processing capability for a secondary line of business.
An example of CSC's commitment to client choice, Integral further enhances CSC's
ability to offer the best solution to the client wherever the client operates.
'To aid our expansion into new markets, we have enhanced some of our best
regional, multi-line and multi-currency software for platform portability and reuse
globally,' Ray August, president of CSC's Financial Services Group, said. 'CSC
remains committed to delivering the right solutions to the right markets at the right
time to help our clients boost customer service, create efficiencies and meet their
growth objectives.'
In related news, to provide services to support program executive officer aircraft
carriers, CSC has received a task order from the US Navy. The task order has a oneyear base period and four one-year options, bringing the estimated total five-year
value to $135 million.
