Global MBA Focus Areas
The Global MBA offers three innovative focus areas designed to match the demands of 21st century business.
Business in Asia
Accounting for more than one quarter of world GDPgreater than that of the United States
or the EU-15Asia is the most dynamic region of the world economy. And not just as a
cheap-labor based producer of manufactured goods; Asian companies are leading innovators
and Asian markets for other countries products and services are the fastest growing in the
world.

That is not to say that doing business in Asia is simple. Asia is a mosaicof traditional and
modern, of diverse histories, geography, cultures, political systems, and business practices.
To succeed in Asiaas a company, an NGO, or a businesspersonyou must understand
these various differences and dynamics and know how to navigate them. Our Business in
Asia courses teach you to do this.

Corporate Internships
Corporate internships offer students a chance to apply what theyve learned in the classroom to the real
world, to experience business practices first-hand, and to expand their network of business connections.
They also give students and companies a chance to get to know each other, and can lead to employment
opportunities after graduation.
Many Global MBA students do internships during their time in our program, either in Japan or
overseas. Among the business areas they have worked in are market entry research, business
development, data analysis, diversity management, and corporate communications. Students may also
use an internship as part of the research for their Project Research Report or Masters Thesis.
Career Resources
Our career center provides resources, information,
and advice on employment opportunities, job fairs,
and the job-hunting process to help you explore
and realize your career goals. We regularly invite
external speakers to provide seminars for MBA
students and coordinate with the university for
on-site recruitment events.
Our career services include:
Career assessment and planning
Resume and cover letter writing assistance
Job interview coaching
One-on-one career consultation
Up-to-date job listings
E-Career web portal
Career fairs, recruiting events, and workshops
Contact list of recent graduates

Job hunting in Japan is all about the network
that you make while you are studying here as
a foreigner. Anyone can be an asset to you.
Your professors are a key asset you should
utilize as well. The career center is also there
to help you with information about job
hunting and even help you with a Japanese
resume and advice. I was personally taken
directly to an interview by Mr. Aoki in the
career center! Job hunting in Japan isn't easy,
but it's becoming a global world and Japanese
companies want to hire multilingual employees,
so now is a great time to get an MBA and be
global. Good luck!

Student Voice
Building on my prior experience studying in Asia, pursing my MBA in Japan was a natural choice. Doshisha Business
School offers a unique multicultural and multinational environment and a focus and awareness with which few other
business schools can compete. With its relatively small size you will quickly find yourself at home here, with professors
stepping out of their way to provide the best classes possible. Kyoto is a city echoing back thousands of years, yet with a
fresh young big-city vibe. Living and studying here is to be immersed in tradition, honour, and sincere beauty.
