PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The MANCOSA MBA is contextualised to the management,
leadership and business needs of a dynamic global market. The
proliferation of knowledge in the 21st century, driven by
technological advancements and new communication vehicles,
has fundamentally altered the manner in which organisations
strive to remain sustainable and competitive. Crafting strategies
that are responsive to the global landscape, whilst still catering to
the political, economic and social demands of the local
environment requires a new breed of management and visionary
leadership.
Our MBA programme will stimulate you intellectually and impact
positively on your work environment. The rigour of the
programme and the effort required to complete it successfully will
ensure that you possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to
tackle challenges of the business world.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. The prospective student must hold a Bachelor of Honours
Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma (NQF level 8) from an
accredited institute or a SAQA equivalent qualification.
b. In addition to the above, the student is expected to:
Have a minimum of two (2) years working experience.
Be at least 23 years of age.

18 months
NQF LEVEL
National Qualification Framework Level 9 (180 credits)
MODE OF DELIVERY
The programme is offered through a blended mode of delivery.
ASSESSMENT
The final assessment mark for each module consists of an
assignment (40 %) and a written examination (60 %).
Examinations are written at the end of each semester.

STUDENT SUPPORT
The programme is delivered through supported distance
learning. Workshops are held each semester to support students
in their studies. A study guide accompanies each module. The
guide includes compulsory readings, self-study activities,
tutorial letters and assessment exercises. In addition, students
have access to online journals, past examination papers and
supplementary learning materials available on the website.

Upon successful completion of the MBA programme, students should be able to:

Identify and solve problems on a management level, demonstrating critical and creative thinking. Conduct and communicate
research in organisations and their environment.

Develop capacities in people, systems and facilities to meet the strategic goals of the organisation within the context of social
needs.

Develop integrated planning and control systems to direct the organisation in pursuance of its goals.

Organise and mobilise the resources of the organisation to achieve strategic goals and targets.

Evaluate and solve problems in which responses display that responsible decisions using strategic, critical and creative thinking is
evident.

Display independent judgement and decision-making capabilities in business

Identify, interpret and evaluate the environmental forces in organisations and the inherent and potential capacities of an
organisation.

Develop business policies and strategies for organisations to meet stakeholder requirements.

Organise and mobilise the resources of the organisation to achieve strategic goals and targets.

Develop an organisational reflective mind-set that can create continuous learning and growth in oneself, the staff and the
organisation.

Develop conceptual and applied entrepreneurial skills

Demonstrate the ability to apply conceptual and analytical frameworks within dierent organisational management conditions.

Utilise appropriate financial management tools as an aid for decision-making purposes.
