includingDrKandasamy,anacademic,forassaultingDharmarajaGunasekaranonDecember
29,whenhewasoutonawalk.
PolicesourcessaidKandasamyisaresidentofMeenatchipuram,nearRajapalayam.Hisformer
soninlaw(foralloffourmonths)DharmarajahadbeenworkingasaprofessorinSouthAfrica
whenhecametoRajapalayamafewdaysbackonvacation.

killhim.HesustainedinjuriesandwaswasadmittedattheRajapalayamGovernmentHospitalfor
treatment.
ThestoryofMeenaKandasamysmaritaldiscordbecamepublicwhenshewroteabouthow
Dharmarajasubjectedhertoabuse,domesticviolenceandmaritalrape,beforeshelefthimin
January2012.Herfamilychargedhimwithharassmentanddomesticviolenceinacasethatis
stillongoing.
Assoonasshewasinformedthatthepolicehadregisteredacaseagainstherfather,Meena,
whohasauthoredTouchandMsMilitancy,postedadetailednoteonhersocialnetworkingpage
thatitwasatrumpedupcharge,MyboyfriendCdricGgarrivedinIndiaintheweehoursof
December28.Thenextday,asMadraswasunderthemaddestrainfallever,westayedindoors
