THE RUSSELL REPORT

Sept. 23, 2016

Dear Prayer Partners:

This prayer letter is overdue! Much has happened since
our last prayer letter! First let me share how God is
helping us with our monthly support needs. In our last
prayer letter, I mentioned we were $1100 undersupported each month. God brought in a family that
decided to support us for $500/month so now we lack
just $600/month from being at full support. Praise God

Scott preaching at a church in Cuba

There have been many other things but these are the big
pieces. To write about all that God did in each one of
these would take too much paper, so we will highlight just
a few of them:
Trip to Cuba. We were so impressed at all that Gods
people are doing in this country where there has been
great governmental restriction placed upon the churches.
God promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail A common mode of public transportation in many Cuban towns
against His church and we have seen it first hand in this
country. The churches are organized into associations and are actively involved in starting daughter churches wherever

they can. The believers love the Lord and have a deep commitment to live for Him no matter the cost. They have
invited me to return to train Cuban pastors that desperately desire more equipping for the ministry.
Trip to Paraguay. It was wonderful to rub shoulders with
our missionaries there. They are great folks. We
desperately need ones to come and join our team there in
the Camp Ministry. If we do not see more come by the
end of 2017, we may lose the camp property due to
government requirements for religious corporation
standards. Please pray that the Lord of the harvest might
send more laborers to serve in this great ministry. The
camp is beautiful, we just need more to help in this vital
ministry. Would you pray about joining our team for camp
ministry in Paraguay?
Trip to Chile. We are excited at what God is doing in
Iquique to begin a new ministry initiative that of opening
a Prenatal & Family Counseling Center. This will be a
Scott with missionary leaders at our church camp in Paraguay
highly evangelistic ministry offering alternatives to ones
considering abortion, as well as offer free counseling to families wrestling with so many problems this world throws
at them. In Santiago, Scott was privileged to team teach with two Chilean pastors a weeklong seminar on evangelism
and discipleship called the Good Soil Seminar to some
30 Chilean pastors and lay leaders. Scott also preached in
two of our church plants where we served for several
years. We need more to come and help start other churches
and join this great team. And we are always in need of
more short term teachers for our English speaking
Christian School there.
Trip to Rio, Brazil. Here we met up with several of our
missionaries for an Evangelistic Outreach ministry at the
Olympics. We were part of a team of some 85 people
partnering with Answers in Genesis and under the
direction of ABWE Board member, Dr. David
Crandall. We spent 10 days distributing over 108,000
evangelistic booklets that were designed specifically for
the Olympic Games. These booklets were translated into Nikki with our newest grandbaby, Daniel James Russell, 3rd child
10 different languages and we were able to give them to to Eric & Amber Russell, 9 lb. 4 oz. at birth. 8 grandchildren now.
people from over 104 different countries. We had tremendous opportunities to share with athletes, coaches, people of
the media, and spectators from all over the world. In missions we go to the nations and give them the gospel but at the
Olympics, the nations came to us and we gave them the
gospel. During the week 28 people trusted Christ in
salvation but we have since had emails coming in letting us
know that some returned to their country, read the booklet
again, and have trusted Christ. Praise God! My prayer is
that God might call ones from our churches in the USA to
go and serve in this city of 8 million people as
missionaries. Currently we have no one serving in Rio. We
desperately need ones to go and serve as a lighthouse in this
beautiful city that is open and ready to respond to the
gospel. Will you go?

Trip to Porto Alegre, Brazil. After our time in Rio, we traveled

to Southern Brazil to Porto Alegre. We were able to see all our
ministries there and visit with our missionary team. We also
met with a tremendous Brazilian pastor who has a vision to
start 50 daughter churches and greatly desires and values our
partnership with him in this great ministry opportunity. We
simply need more folks to surrender to the call of missionary
service and help us partner with this Brazilian pastor to start
other new churches.
This letter may resemble a photo album. We hope you enjoy
the pictures. Thanks again for all you do for our ministry.
Grateful for Your Prayers and Support,
Nikki with MK's at our Missionary Enrichment Conference
