Session 1 4th September

Welcome who has done some drama before?


Name game Throw the bean bag.
Warm up Basic breathing into Diaphragm, chewing gum, Physical rotating feet, knees,
hands etc, puppet.

Introduce the freeze frame.


Groups (randomly chosen) to produce a play based on the location at school. Must
use freeze frames at the beginning and end. Max 2 mins per performance.
T to oversee rehearsal, ensuring that children are facing the audience, that the story
they create makes sense, and that they use the freeze fames appropriately. Help
resolve any disagreements and move children out of groupings if unhappy.
Towards the end of the rehearsal period, T to ask each group if they wish to perform
encourage but dont pressure.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that we praise ALL efforts both in feedback/questions


and performance. The main aim of the classes is to improve the childrens
confidence and self-esteem. Also, bear in mind that we are role models
building a tolerant and co-operative atmosphere.
