Conclusion:
1. If the displacement volume is located either above or below
the free surface, the wavemaking resistance , will be low.
2. Additionally the wave forces on the hull, therefore ship
motions, will be low if the hull is outside of the range of the
surface waves.
This is the key issue for the design of most promising AMV
types.
