Technical Skills
Java
I am a very confident and proficient Java programmer. I have also worked on a few personal projects. Some of
which include a Mini-Payroll System, a Graphical Simulation of an Aquarium and a Checkers Game.
Ruby
I am a self-taught Ruby developer. Specifically, I use the Rails framework for developing web applications
and Sinatra for APIs. I have only worked on personal projects as I am still getting myself familiar with the
technologies.
C/C++
Confident with most intermediate concepts related with C. I started teaching myself C/C++ because I wanted
to learn more about memory and how to manage it as well as processes.
PHP
I am an intermediate PHP programmer. I started learning PHP in the first year of my degree and I later developed a
blog after learning PHP for a month. I also went on to develop my personal website (http://www.personalwebsite)
and a commercial site for an entertainment company based in Oxford (http://www.entertainment) using PHP as a
sever side scripting language
Databases
In the process of working with PHP Rails and Sinatra, I have gained familiarity with MYSQL and SQLITE3 databases.
I am also currently learning how to use the Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
Office Suite
Confident user of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Mobile Application Development (Android and iOS) Currently working on improving my mobile application
development skills mainly on the iOS and Android platform.

One of only a few undergraduates to be selected by the university to be a Teaching


Assistant (TA) for first year modules, in Procedural Programming, Language and
Communication and Object Oriented Programming.
Chosen as a PASS (Peer Assisted Student Support) mentor to first year Computer Science
students.
1st Prize and Certificate of Outstanding Programming Skill in the 2011 EECS, QMUL
Programming Competition.
Gold Contribution Award and Course Representative Certificate in the Faculty of Science
and Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London.
Best Graduating Student Award in Mathematics, Physics and Technical Drawing at London

Most Talented Graduating Student Award at LondonInternational College

Transferable Skills
Team Player:
I am a good Team Player and this has been demonstrated in winning both the Gold Contribution Award and the
Certificate of Outstanding Programming Skills, both of which relied heavily on Leadership Abilities and Team
Working competencies for success. I also was elected Project manager and Head Designer for my Software
Engineering project at University in a group of 6.
Innovative:
I am innovative and have the ability to creatively find new, easier, cheaper and more efficient and effective ways of
doing things. This was demonstrated in winning the Certificate of Outstanding Programming Skills where I was able
to devise efficient algorithms to solve problems at hand. I also was able to help the team (3 people) manage time
and I succeeded, as we were able to tackle a lot of problems in a short period of time.

Interests
Computing - I am interested in learning new technologies and have used online resources to teach myself new
applications and languages. I am also an active member of the Graduate Developer Community, Ruby on Rails
Community and attend networking and training events on a regular basis.
