sentence. Underline the word on and under.

the bag? Again, write it in a complete sentence and
underline on and in.

Very Good! Now guess! What do we call of
these words?
We call it as prepositions
Very Good! Our lesson for today is about the

What are the prepositions that we use in the

prepositions are followed by the nouns?

Can you name all the nouns in the sentence?
The bird is on the chair. The noun is bird and chair.
The bird is under the table. The noun is bird and table.
The bag is on the desk. The noun is bag and desk.
The bag is in my room. The noun is bag and room.
Very Good! Therefore what is preposition?
Preposition is a word that relates a noun to another
word in a sentence.
Very Good! Now, I have here a bag, box, book
and 3 pencils on the chair. So, I want you to close your
eyes and cover it with your hands. 1,2,3 GO
(The students will close their eyes and cover it with
their hands.) The student will count 5 seconds
Okay everybody, open now your eyes. Tell me,
where are the pencils?
The pencils are in the box.
Very Good! When do we say that the object is
in? When do we use in?
We use in when something is located inside a defined

space.
Very Good! Are the pencils located inside a
defined space?
Yes Maam!
Okay next! Where are the book and the box?
The book and the box are on the chair.
Very Good! So when do we use on? When do
we say that the object is on?
We use on when something is touching the surface of
something.
Very Good! Are the book and the box touching
the surface of something?
Yes Maam!
Okay good! How about the bag? Where is the
bag?
The bag is under the chair.
Very Good! Then, when do we say that the
object is under? When do we use under?
We use under when something is above on it.
Very Good! Now let us see if you really
