Entrepreneurship is a mind-set, exhorts start-up champion Warikoo at EPGP

EPGP students of IIM Bangalore witnessed a mix of passion and business sense when
Nearbuy CEO, Ankur Warikoo delivered his address as a part of the EPGP seminar series.
Mr. Warikoo, spoke about the growing Internet Start-up ecosystem in India, on 4 th May, as a
part of the seminar series organized by the students of the Executive Post Graduate Program
(EPGP) in Management of IIM Bangalore at the institute premises.
In his address, Mr. Warikoo elaborated on how the decisions he made over the years have
influenced his life. Referring to successful entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates
and Elon Musk, he said, There is no absolute standard of success. I feel these successful
individuals try to determine what success is every day. Speaking about perseverance, the
Young Entrepreneur said, Giving up should never be an option. We can never get too
comfortable with failure. He concluded by exhorting the EPGP students to make the most of
the opportunity they have by being at a premier business school like IIM Bangalore.
It is noteworthy that Mr. Warikoo is an Internet entrepreneur and Angel Investor based
in India. He is the Co-founder and CEO of nearbuy (formerly Groupon India). He was the
venture partner behind Rocket Internet Gmbh which supports internet start-ups in more than
20 countries. He was a co-founder at Accentium Web and a management consultant at A.T
Kearney. He holds MS degree in Astro Physics from Michigan State and is an Alum of ISB
Hyderabad. He has multiple Awards to his name including Fortune India 40 under 40.
The students actively participated in the interaction session that followed the address. The
session seemed to instil a sense of entrepreneurship among the business students. The
program witnessed the participation of a large number of students and faculty of the institute.
