For further tuning on the range, fire a few rounds at the target.
After seeing where the bullets are hitting, adjust the laser to the
actual point of impact. For example, if the laser is pointing at the
center of the target, but the bullets are impacting low and right,
move the laser down and to the right.

should we? After all, our new high-tech, microelectronics facility in
Wilsonville, Oregon assembles a best-in-class product. Highlighted

grips and then screw on ours. Crimson Trace Laser Sights do not
alter or replace operating parts of the firearm. The attachment

Laser Sights are factory-sighted to approximate point-of-impact

at 50 feet. But if adjustment becomes necessary, all thats needed
is the hex wrench included with product.
A good starting point is to establish a normal sight picture and line
up the laser dot with the iron sights this may be all the adjustment
needed. (Sight picture simply means evenly aligning the notch in
your back sights with the post in your front sight in a level, straight line.)

Most models come with a master switch that shuts the system down
completely. Our lithium batteries provide more than four hours of
on time and have a five-year shelf life. Batteries are available
at most stores, but can be ordered directly from Crimson Trace.
Leaving your grip in the on position will not drain batteries.
LASERGUARD STANDS TALL FOR TINY GUNS.

Laserguard is the ultimate laser sight for compact semi-automatic
handguns. The design is the most compact, instinctively activated,
full-featured, user-adjustable laser sighting system available. It
was designed to overcome the design challenges posed by very
small, polymer-framed handguns. An innovative, tab-and-groove
interlocking system attaches securely to the trigger guard for
repeatable accuracy. A lip added to the base of the Laserguard
below the activation button acts as an added finger groove while
shooting. Installation does not require any pin removal, the use of
firearm screws, or the disassembly of the firearm.
PRO-CUSTOM FINISHES LOOK SHARP.

A recent development at Crimson Trace is the advent of realistic
finishes applied directly to certain Lasergrips. This process
allows us to offer carbon fiber, burlwood and chainmail finishes,
among others.

FIFTEEN KEY QUESTIONS, ASKED AND ANSWERED.

1. HOW ARE CRIMSON TRACE LASER SIGHTS ACTIVATED?
DO THEY WORK BOTH RIGHT- AND LEFT-HANDED?
A great feature of Crimson Trace laser sights is that they turn on
simply by holding your gun in a natural firing grip. Theres no
need to flip a switch or do anything differently.
A natural grip on the firearm will activate the laser/light. Depending
on the model, laser sights have either a front, rear or dual-side
activation button. Either style works equally well for right- and
left-handed shooting.

on the right. Any modification should be performed by a gunsmith.
9. WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF THE LASER BEING OFFSET FROM

THE BARREL?
Extremely minor. At point blank, the laser is about 1" low and to the
right of the barrels center line. We recommend sighting in at 50' so
that for any distance between point blank and 50, the point-of-aim
(POA) is within 1" of point-of-impact (POI).
10. WHATS THE WARRANTY?
2. HOW FAR IS THE LASER VISIBLE?

Crimson Trace has the most powerful laser allowed by law, a Class
3R visible laser diode. At night, in reduced light and indoors the
laser is highly visible up to several hundred yards. Under bright
sunlight, the dot can be seen 15 25 feet away.
Lighter-colored surfaces reflect laser light better than darker surfaces.
The lighter the surface, the brighter the laser dot will appear.
3. HOW LONG WILL MY BATTERIES LAST? WHERE CAN I GET THEM?

All Crimson Trace products use commonly available powerful
lithium batteries. They provide over four (4) hours of ON time
for Lasergrips and Laserguard models. Batteries for the MVF line
provide a minimum of: six (6) hours for Green and forty-eight
(48) hours for Red of ON time. Turning the master switch off
will not increase battery life. No power is used until the activation
button is depressed. Lightguard models provide over two (2) hours
of illumination. These batteries are readily available and
inexpensive. Required batteries are listed next to each product.
4. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BATTERIES DIE?

When batteries are low, the laser does not just stop working. It fades
in intensity and gives plenty of warning. A low battery is indicated
when the laser emits a bright laser that slowly fades after several
seconds. Most heavy users change their batteries once a year, just
to be safe.
5. ARE CRIMSON TRACE PRODUCTS WEATHERPROOF?

All sights are weatherproof so theres no risk taking them in the
heavy rain or splashing them. Submerging them in water, while
not recommended, will not destroy the laser sight. If they are submerged, take them off, remove the batteries and allow to air dry.
6. ARE CRIMSON TRACE SIGHTS ADJUSTABLE?

Yes, they can be easily adjusted for windage (side to side) and
elevation (up and down). A small hole on the top and side of the
diode housing contains a screw that turns with a supplied hex
wrench. Page 33 indicates what direction to turn the windage
or elevation adjustment to sight in your laser. DO NOT overturn
adjustment screws; a little adjustment goes a long way. Rarely is
more than one complete turn required.
7. WHAT IF I DONT SEE MY FIREARM LISTED IN THE CATALOG?

Make a future model request by phone call, email or visit our website
to submit your request. Such requests help us determine what
products to offer next. We are constantly adding new innovative
products to the lineup.
8. WILL LASERGRIPS FIT MY 1911 WITH AMBIDEXTROUS SAFETY?

A standard right-side safety lever will interfere with the laser diode
housing. Simply remove the factory right-side paddle and shorten it
slightly to clear the laser housing. Or, buy pre-modified safeties that

11. WHAT DO RUBBER OVERMOLD AND POLYMER MEAN?

These are two type of molding processes we use to make laser
sights. Each set of sights is made out of molded grip substrates
into which the electronics are embedded. Polymer grips are
molded from a rugged single-density material throughout. Rubber
overmold grips are made with a dual-density material, meaning the
grip substrates are first molded from hard polymer and then softer
material is molded over the hard polymer.
12. WHERE CAN I GET A HOLSTER TO ACCOMMODATE MY

LASER SIGHT?
Due to the seamless integration of our laser sights, holsterability is
an ease with most common holsters. However, Crimson Trace also
teamed up with several trusted names in the holster business to
create custom holsters to accommodate your laser equipped pistol.

A red laser is highly visible in low light. The output peak for both
lasers is the same yet the human eye naturally detects the color
green, hence the green laser appearing brighter in natural bright
day light. Both the green and red laser Crimson Trace produces
emit the maximum output allowed by law a Class 3R laser. For

No. All Crimson Trace laser sights are easily installed by the user
without the assistance of a gunsmith while no firearm alterations are
necessary, or suggested. The Laserguard platform attaches to the
trigger guard and is held in place by 2 or 3 screws, depending on
