27 May, 2010 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SLIDE LUCK POTSHOW - LONDON II – A VISUAL FEAST

7pm, 19 June, 2010, Shoreditch House, Ebor Street, Shoreditch, London
E1 6AW

The Slideluck Potshow London II event will be taking place on 19 June, 2010 at
Shoreditch House. This will be part of the 2010 global tour, launching in New
York this Saturday, 15 May. The event will consist of a slideshow and potluck
dinner, bringing together members of the photography, art and media
communities for an evening of eating, drinking and sharing work.

SLIDELUCK POTSHOW (SLPS) is a non-profit arts organisation that aims to

build and strengthen community around art and food. It is a forum for exposing
photographers, curators, collectors, and editors to new work, while infusing the
arts community with a non- commercial vitality and refreshing exchange. Every
event sees the participation of local and international photographers and artists
ranging from the very accomplished to the up and coming.

Confirmed sponsors include Shoreditch House who will be hosting the

event, along with Demotix newswire, Snap photography studio and
Brooklyn Brewery premium beer.

Past contributors include: The Guggenheim Foundation, Chuck Close, Elliott

Erwitt, Gregory Crewdson, Jonas Bendiksen, Todd Hido, Elinor Carucci, Alec Soth,
Spencer Tunick, Shepard Fairey, Martin Parr, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Lauren
Greenfield, Vincent Laforet and many others.

The artist photographer Spencer Tunick has already confirmed his contribution
for the London event on 19 June ahead of his forthcoming exhibition Everyday
People at The Lowry, Salford Quays from 12 June to 26 September (further
information below).

The evening will begin with a couple hours of mingling and dining on the
delicious home-cooked food brought by those who attend, then the lights are
dimmed, the crowd is hushed and a slideshow commences.

For over ten years, SLPS has been bringing an event that combines a multimedia
slideshow with a potluck dinner to cities all over the world. What began in
Seattle as a grassroots effort by award-winning photographer, Casey Kelbaugh,
in 2000 has now become an international cultural phenomenon.

“I wanted to foster a sense of community within the industry while presenting

the work in a egalitarian fashion; by limiting everyone from unpublished
students to international art stars to a five minute time limit on their
presentations”. Casey adds, “More than anything else, it’s a fun and inspiring
evening that is meant to remind of us why we are creating in the first place.”

SLPS has grown exponentially and by demand and has taken place in cities all
over the world including New York, Berlin, Oslo, São Paolo, Milan, Los Angeles,
Barcelona, Chicago, Mexico City, Nairobi, Copenhagen, Toronto, Seville, Rome,
Bogotá, San Francisco, Madrid, Minneapolis, Stockholm, Rio de Janeiro, Berlin,
Panama City, Montrèal, New Orleans and now, for the second time in three
years, London.
