REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2015-028


AN ORDNANCE AMENDING REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2013-329 OR
"AN ORDINANCE ENACTING THE TOURISM CODE OF ILOILO CITY", BY
INSERTING ADDffiONAL ARTICLES ON THE ADOPTION OF THE
ILOILO CITY HYMN

WHEREAS, the Tourism Code of Iloilo City was passed and approved with the purpose of
asy access and dissemination of information on tourism related matters;
WHEREAS, the inclusion of Regulation Ordinance No. 2011-274 or "An Ordinance Adopting
the Himno sang Dakbanwa sang !/oil</' composed by Arne Lubasan, as the Official City Hymn, could
intensify the spirit of belongingness and sense of identity for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City oflloilo, that:
Section 1. - Regulation Ordinance No. 2013-329 is hereby amended by inserting additional
Article on Ordinance Adopting the Iloilo City Hymn and to read, as follows:

"ARTICLE XIII
ADOPTION OF THE ILOILO CITY HYMN
Section 1. Title -This Ordinance shall be known as "The Iloilo City Hymn"
Section 2. Title of the Song. - The Iloilo City Hymn shall be entitled "Himno
sang Dakbanwa sang Iloilo" composd by Mr. Arne Lubasan.
Section 3. Purposes. - a. to have an official hymn that will provide a unique
sense of identify for the city distinct from other local government units;
b. To provide a sense of belongingness and pride to the residents oflloilo City;

c. To incorporate the goals and dreams of the City Government of Iloilo to


uplift its social, moral, physical, spiritual and cultural aspects of its inhabitants.
Section 4. Official Lyrics. -The lyrics of the Iloilo City Hymn shall be:

"HIMNO SANG DAKBANWA SANG ILOILO

Puluy-an ka sang mga dungganon


Guindihon sa imong gugmang bilidhon
Namat-an sang mga baganihan
Nakigbato para sa kahilwayan

Dunang manggad sa amon guin-aman


Manggaran sa kulturang kinaadman
May maragtas nga madinu-agon
Bulawanon ang mga palanublion
Koro
Roilo, Roi/fJ
Dakbanwa kong nahamut-an
Iloilo, Roilo
Bugal magpadulong diin man
Tampad nga magpabilin sa imo
Tungod palangga ko
Dakbanwang Roilo, bugal ko!

Section 2. - Article XIII is hereby amended and to become as Article XIV of Regulation
Ordinance No. 2013-329.
Section 3. Effectivity. - This ordinance shall take effect upon approval and posting.
