1. What is the purpose of keyboard shortcuts?
- A keyboard shortcut is a combination of keys that, when pressed
simultaneously, perform some task that ordinarily requires use of a mouse
or other input device and may take longer to do. In Windows XP , for
example, pressing Control-Alt-Delete will bring up the task manager utility
for application and system monitoring and control. Other popular
keyboard shortcuts include Control-C (copy), Control-P (print), ControlV (paste), Control-X (cut), andControl-Z (undo).
2. What are the PC shortcut key for Special Characters?

To type a special character, using an Alt keyboard sequence:

1. Ensure that the Num Lock key has been pressed, to activate the numeric key
section of the keyboard.
2. Press the Alt key, and hold it down.
3. While the Alt key is pressed, type the sequence of numbers (on the numeric
keypad) from the Alt code in the above table.
4. Release the Alt key, and the character will appear.
