How to use PEC
The following are key tips for using Protocel, Cancell, and Entelev or PEC to help overcome
cancer and some other chronic health challenges (such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, IBS,
ulcerative colitis, Crohns Disease) These tips have been gathered over the years by many people
who have experienced the benefits of this remarkable formula under the names of Protocel, Cancell,
and Entelev.
PEC is a liquid formula that is taken by mixing a small amount into either water, iced tea,
or juice. If using water, it is recommended to not use chlorinated tap water. (Distilled, filtered or
spring water are all okay, however.) There are two slightly different formulations of the PEC
formula that are currently being sold. These are: "PEC Formula 50" and "PEC Formula 23".
Formula 50 should generally be taken 4 times a day ('/4 teaspoonful, 1/4 teaspoonful, 1/4
teaspoonful, 1/4 teaspoonful). These doses should be spaced out as equally as possible
throughout a person's waking hours, starting immediately upon rising and ending just before
bed.
Formula 23, on the other hand, should generally be taken 5 times a day for cancer(1/4
teaspoonful, '/4 teaspoonful, 1/4 teaspoonful, 1/4 teaspoonful, and 1/2 teaspoonful for adults), and 4
times a day for auto-immune disorders and these doses should all be spaced out as equally as
possible throughout a person's waking hours. (Notice that the dose at bedtime is a double dose.)
In some cases, a slightly larger dose size of 1/3 teaspoonful can be taken right from the
beginning (for either formulation). The most common type of cancer case allowing this higher
dose involves people who are already considered in remission or who have caught their cancer
early and have very little cancer. This is because these people will not have a problem with cancer
breakdown going faster than the body can handle.
Another type of case warranting a 1/3 teaspoonful size dose is when a person is not
responding particularly well to PEC by the third or fourth month and high levels of heavy metal
toxicity is suspected or proven by a hair analysis. (High levels of heavy metals such as mercury,
nickel, or cadmium may bind to PEC and render it somewhat less effective.) Oftentimes, these
people immediately start responding once they switch to the higher dose. However, not everyone
can handle the increased lysing resulting from more than teaspoonful. For instance, if a person
has a lot of cancer in their brain or lymph system (such as with advanced lymphoma), if they have

a significant-sized tumor in their liver, kidney, or pancreas, or a tumor in any passageway that
might get blocked with cancer breakdown occurring too fast (such as the urethra or esophagus,
then these people will probably do best sticking to the teaspoonful dose until their cancer load
has been greatly reduced. Once they have very little cancer left, they can then speed up their
recovery by upping their dose size to 1/3 teaspoonful each time.
For very small children, dose size for either formulation will usually need to be smaller.
For example, some parents have found it most helpful to use only 1/8 teaspoonful of the formula
for children under 65 pounds or so. A recommended way to start very small children on PEC is
1/8, 1/8, 1/8, and 1/4 teaspoonful each day for brain cancer, and 1/8, 1/8, 1/8, 1/8, '/a teaspoonful
each day for any other condition. For more input on dosing for small children it can be very
helpful to log onto the www.protocelforum.com User Support Forum mentioned earlier.
There is even a special forum you can inquire about that is set up just for parents of children
using PEC. About 95% of the parents on this forum have children with primary brain cancer.
CANCER: Some of the fastest-responding cancers to PEC may be prostate cancer, bladder
cancer, colon (or colo-rectal) cancer, cervical cancer, and childhood leukemia. Also very good
responders appear to be kidney cancer, astrocytoma brain tumors, melanomas, breast and lung
cancers. There are no known types of cancer which never respond to PEC, however for certain
types (such as glioblastomas, melanoma, squamous cell cancers, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer
and rhabdo-carcomas) full recovery may depend on how advanced the condition is.
IMPORTANT: NEVER GO MORE THAN 6 HOURS BETWEEN DOSES
For OPTIMUM cancer recovery with either formulation, never go more than 6 hours
between any two doses. Since most people are in bed for more than 6 hours overnight, this means
getting up to take a dose some time during the night. (Some people misunderstand this rule and
think it only refers to not going more than 6 hours between doses during the day. To make sure
they understand, it is helpful to ask the person when and how they are taking their middle-of-thenight dose.) Sample dosing schedules for PEC 50 might be 7am-1pm-7pm-1am or 8am-2pm-8pm2am. A sample dosing schedule for PEC 23 might be 7am-Noon-4:30-9:15pm-2am.
The reason for never going more than 6 hours is the following: Though some amount of
PEC will still be in the body after 6 hours, enough of the formula has been metabolized at the 6hour point for it to start to drop below the therapeutic level. Thus, fast-growing anaerobic cells
may begin to replicate again after 6 hours. PEC is always going to be MOST effective when a
therapeutic level is maintained around the clock. (This is also why missing doses is not
recommended unless absolutely necessary when dealing with lots of fast-growing anaerobic cells.)
Having said this, it is much more important for the middle-of-the-night dose to be observed when
dealing with advanced or aggressive cancers. Many people with slow-growing cancers at earlier
stages have achieved recovery by simply doubling their bedtime dose and going 8 hours overnight
without a dose. This can also be done as a maintenance schedule for any type of cancer once the
cancer appears to be in remission.
Drinking a LOT of water every day while on PEC can greatly help the body process out
lysed material and may noticeably reduce any sick feelings associated with the lysing process.
Drinking 3 quarts of good unchlorinated water every day should be considered the norm while using
PEC. Also avoiding flu shots during the recovery process is important. (The regular use of PEC
usually keeps a person from contracting a cold or flu anyway because it is so effective at ridding the
body of viruses!)
Reducing the intake of refined sugar and refined flour as much as possible is strongly
recommended not because they interfere with PEC, but because they so effectively feed the cancer
cells. However, Aspartame products (NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful) should NOT be used in
replacement of sugar due to their damaging and carcinogenic effects on the body.
INCREASE IN BLOOD MARKER TESTS
Cancer marker blood tests may show a dramatic rise in marker levels in some cases. This is
because the lysing process caused by PEC can sometimes cause markers to be released into the
blood stream even faster than normal as the cancer is breaking down. Thus, a cancer patient using
PEC may experience his or her tumor(s) getting smaller as his or her marker levels are rising. At
some point, usually after a few months, cancer markers will go back down and continue to reduce
thereafter. For prostate cancer, the PSA is not really a true cancer marker and should not be relied
on for assessing progress. Some men have experienced their PSA level rising for up to 6 months
while on PEC. According to John R. Lee, M.D., it is best NOT to try to reduce the PSA count by
administering hormone blocking drugs such as Lupron or Casodex. (For more information about
this, read Dr. John R. Lees booklet about prostate cancer, mens hormones, and PSA.)
In some brain cancer cases, an MRI may not distinguish between active cancer and lysed
cancer. Thus, it is sometimes a better idea to use a PET scan for assessing progress. Also, a brain
tumor may not always completely go away. Sometimes it will shrink a little, then turn benign (stop
highlighting on scans). Whenever this happens, a person should stay on PEC indefinitely to avoid
risking the possibility that the benign tumor might become active again.
Do NOT stop using PEC as soon as the symptoms of cancer disappear. Cancer may be
undetectable even when there are millions of cancer cells left in the body. A general rule to ensure
full recovery is the following: Use PEC rigorously until one year AFTER all diagnostic tests have
pronounced the patient All Clear of cancer. After that, many patients will choose to continue a
maintenance program involving taking 2 or 3 bottles of PEC back-to-back each year.
PEC HAS SHOWN SUCCESS WITH NON-CANCER CONDITIONS
PEC has been used effectively for various non-cancer chronic health challenges as well such
as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, intestinal disorders and some viral conditions. For all non-cancer
conditions, people usually start with the Formula 23, but may choose to switch to the 50 after two or
three bottles of the 23. Also for non-cancer conditions, taking the formula 5 times a day is not
necessary and either formulation is generally started at teaspoonful just 4 times a day. The
middle-of-the-night dose is usually not necessary unless the condition is life-threatening, however,
never going more than 8 to 8 hours between the bedtime dose and the morning dose is still a
good idea. However, if a non-cancer condition is life-threatening, starting with teaspoonful every
6 hours (including a middle-of-the-night-does) is recommended. Using a life-threatening viral
condition as an example, once the condition is virtually asymptomatic, or the virus is undetectable
through testing, then the person can just space out their four doses during the day, with their first
dose immediately upon waking and their last dose just before bed. Also, at the point where the
virus is finally undetectable, the PEC dose may be increased from to 1/3 teaspoonful.
ARTHRITIS: Some people have found their arthritis pain to greatly reduce or go away after
using PEC for at least a couple months. This has been reported for both steo and rheumatoid
arthritis. If joint cartilage has been severely damaged, however, PEC cannot rebuild the cartilage or
rebuild damaged joints. Thus, the best results have been obtained by patients who catch their
arthritis before severe joint damage has occurred.
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS: Surprisingly good results have occurred for many people with
MS using this formula. There are two theories as to how PEC may work for this condition. One
theory is based on the idea that Multiple Sclerosis (which means multiple scarring) causes scar
tissue to build up on a persons neurons. The myelin sheath is damaged and the scar tissue
interferes with the normal neuron functioning. This scar tissue appears to be made up of primarily
anaerobic cells and PEC causes these cells to break down and fall off the neurons. Once the body
can rebuild new myelin sheath, these neurons can function normally again. When PEC is used for
MS, other supplements that can help the body re-build myelin sheath are recommended in-between
doses of PEC. Such recommendations include: 1000 mg. Borage Seed Oil every day, 3
Tablespoons granular lecithin every day, and 2 Tablespoons extra virgin cold-pressed olive oil every
day. Common MS drugs, such as the ABC&R drugs should NOT be taken with PEC, and
Aspartame MUST be completely avoided.
the intestinal disorders. People using PEC for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohns disease, or
ulcerative colitis (UC) often claim their chronic symptoms of pain, diarhea and bloody stools
disappear after just 3-5 days on PEC and that they continue to feel very good as long as they
continue taking PEC 4 times a day. After feeling good for a couple months, these people can see
if dosing just 3 times a day (every 8 hours) will suffice.
GUIDELINES FOR WHICH FORMULA TO TAKE
Formula 50 and Formula 23 are virtually the same formula which are designed to work
at different speeds. They have the same ingredients and the same proportions and amounts of
those ingredients. The only difference between the two is that Formula 50 has been put
through a slightly longer processing procedure, and is generally considered a little faster-acting in
causing anaerobic cells to lyse. This slightly different speed at which the two formulations work
provides people with a degree of control over how fast their lysing process goes, thus giving
them more control over their own recovery.
People with different health challenges have also found that one formulation or the other
may actually work a little better for their specific condition. Since PEC is NOT approved by
the FDA as a cancer treatment and no claims are made as to its use or effectiveness for
cancer or any other disease, I had to interview many different people who have used PEC in order
to ascertain some general guidelines as to which formulation might be best to start with for
various health conditions. As of this printing, the following is a general guide as to how to pick
a formulation to begin using. (This information is based on anecdotal information, and it is
important for each individual to remember that they can try one particular formulation, then
after a while, switch to the other according to their own particular needs.)

If your particular health condition is not listed above, start with Formula 50. If you find the
lysing going too fast at any time, then switch to Formula 23. But don't take both
formulations at the same time.
For people with primary brain cancer, Formula 23 has been the preferred version by most
users. The reason for this is that, as brain tumors lyse away, some edema may occur. So, when
dealing with cancer in the brain, one needs to be very cautious about not promoting too
much edema. This is particularly true for anyone with a tumor in the brainstem area. Thus,
using Formula 23 for most primary brain cancer situations has been known to make the lysing
process and edema symptoms more manageable.
For people with primary liver cancer, the Formula 50 has been the preferred version but
must be tailored to the individual. If one has advanced primary liver cancer, one may need to use
just 1/8 teaspoonful 4 times a day.

When a person with any condition already has weakened kidneys for any reason before
starting PEC, Formula 23 is generally the preferred version. This is because, when the kidneys are
already in a weakened state, it is harder for the body to process out the lysed material in an
efficient way. So, going a little slower may help keep the kidneys from being overwhelmed.
Because both formulations are so similar, and both work for any condition involving
anaerobic cells, the particular formulation one starts with is not as critical as the issue of
making sure to use PEC correctly in general. One important general rule is that, because PEC
works by interfering with the cell respiration process of anaerobic cells, maintaining a regular
schedule of administration (preferably never going more than 6 hours during the day without it,
or much more than 8 hours during the night without it) will produced optimum results. It is not
necessary to set the clock and get up in the middle of the night to take a dose, however, since
adequate sleep is also important to healing and should not be interfered with, if possible. Just
space the doses out and don't miss doses!
The next important general rule for taking PEC is that one should only take Formula
23 or Formula 50 at any given time. In people's efforts to fine-tune their own lysing process
and recovery, they may end up with part of a bottle of Formula 23 and part of a bottle of
Formula 50. If this happens, do NOT mix the two formulations together. Formula 50 and
Formula 23 should always be kept in separate bottles, and people should only use one or the other
at any given time!
aldehydes as a byproduct. These toxic aldehydes are not good for the body. Worse yet, when
Ozone and PEC are combined and they interact with each other, you no longer have Ozone or
PEC left. Thus, you get neither the benefit from the PEC nor the benefit from the Ozone. This is
a good example of why it is important to be very cautious about combining different treatment
approaches. Recently, over-the-counter ozonated water has become available at some health food
stores. If you decide to drink any type of "oxygenated" water while using PEC, be sure it is NOT
oxygenated with 03!
If a person eats a healthy, well-balanced diet while using PEC, the intake of the above
nutrients in their natural food form will not be enough to interfere with the formula's effectiveness.
Many cancer patients have proven this to be true time and again. However, it is recommended to
keep the ingestion of those fruits that are very high in vitamin C to a minimum. In other words,
while using PEC it is probably best to not eat a lot of citrus fruit or drink a lot of fresh citrus fruit
juice. Many people have gotten well from cancer using this formula while drinking fresh juices and
eating plenty of vegetables and fruits on a daily basis, as long as the fruits one eats and drinks are not
primarily citrus fruits.

*NOTE: In the case of Paw Paw, use cautiously - preferably not before the fourth month on PEC.
The combined effect with PEC can cause overly rapid lysing. One must be sure their body's detoxifying
systems are not overwhelmed. Should be taken between doses of PEC with 2-3 hours between the PEC and
Paw Paw. Graviola is similar to Paw Paw, but the potency levels are not standardized, so Paw Paw from
Nature's Sunshine is preferred.
Avoiding supplements that might interfere with PEC can be difficult because we live in an
age of "nutritional supplementation", and many people who seek alternative approaches for
cancer want to be able to supplement with as much as they can get their hands on. But this can
seriously backflre for people using PEC. Unfortunately, most supplements that show anti-cancer
activity are much more publicized than PEC is. This can cause people using PEC to be
"inundated" with suggestions from their doctor or others around them to supplement with this
or that cancer-fighting agent.
For instance, I heard of a man using PEC for his cancer and who took high doses of
vitamin E at the same time. He did this because his doctor said he should take E for his cancer.
Yet, like many people, this man never told his doctor that he was using PEC, and even if he had,
the doctor would not have known that vitamin E can interfere with the formula. I have also heard
of others using high doses of vitamin C or some other supplement on the aforementioned
"avoid" list. These people generally do not have success with PEC.
