THE EFFECT OF MOTHERS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE THROUGH THE

DEVELOPMENT OF CHULDRENS SMOOTH MOTORIC AT THE AGE OF 3 TO 5

BACKGROUND: World Health Organitation ( WHO ) reported that 5 to 25% of preschool age
children suffered from minor brain dysfunction, including disorders of smooth motoric
development. The success of childrens development smooth motoric is influenced by the mother
's emotional intelligence until to 80 %. Based on the preliminary study in kindergarden Al
Munawarah Mns Dayah Tuha, Beurachan, there were 30 children aged 3 to 5 years old, and
based on the interviews with five early childhood teachers of Al Munawarrah there were eight
children that could not hold stationery and threw the ball in to the basket.
RESEARCH PURPOSE: To know the influence of mothers emotional intelligence to the
development of childrens smooth motoric skills aged 3 to 5 years old at kindergarden Al
Munawarah Mns Dayah Tuha, Beurachan in 2015.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: This study is an analytic sectional cross approach, The study
was conducted from 25th to 29th of August 2015 in kindergarden Al Munawarah Mns Dayah
Tuha, Beurachan, the populations in this study were mothers whose children were 3-5 years old.
The sampling technique using total sampling which reached 30 people, in addition data Retrieval
using questionnaire and checklist, furthermore the data is processed and analyzed using chi
square test.
STUDY RESULT: The study showed that 16 respondents who had good emotional intelligence
in better category is high percentage depends on the respondents whose children development
motoric run appropriate to their ages as much as 14 children ( 87.5 % ) with value of p = 0.001
( p < 0.05 ).
CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS: Mother emotional intelligence influences the
children development of smooth motoric (3 to 5 years old). It is expected to be input for teachers
in kindergarden Al Munawarah Mns Dayah Tuha, Beurachan in disseminating information
related to normal development motoric and its deviation, and able to stimulate the childs
development motoric to the children whose development inappropriate motor.
