COURSE DESCRIPTION
Supply chain management is a systematic approach to help companies
create and maintain their competitive advantage. An improvement should
bring the company closer to its goal to be able to make money in the near
future. This course is designed to provide students with knowledge and
skills to improve the performance of supply chain.

COURSE RATIONALE
Logistics management is part of the supply chain management process.
Supply chain management covers planning and management of all
activities involved in sourcing and procurement, conversion, and logistics
management activities. Supply chain management is a function that
integrates key business functions and business processes within and
across companies to make a cohesive and high performance business
model. It also includes coordination and collaboration with partners,
suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers, and customers. In
essence, supply chain management integrates supply and demand
management within and across companies.

TEACHING METHODS
Lecturing, simulation,computationpractical, and class discussion.

ASSESSMENT METHODS
Quizes, class participation, written test, computation test.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Develop an understanding of the differences between logistics,
operations and supply chain management and their role in supporting
the business strategy.

2. Develop knowledge of individual processes and supply chain


management within the company and their linkages across the
enterprise.
3. Develop knowledge of the tools and techniques that are useful in
applying the concept of supply chain.
4. Strengthening management and integrative analysis of problem-solving
skills.
