Hello Readers!
Here we are in October already! We have a lot going on in
Gateway this month. World Mental Day is on Monday the
10th of October, and we will have a day of celebration in
Gateway. We invite members of the community to come and
join us. There will be plenty of activities relating to this years
themefive ways to wellbeing. Its on from 12 until 5pm.
Everybody is welcome to join in the fun, meet Gateway
members and find out what we do here. When you leave here
we hope you will have a happy smile on your face.
And the brand new Recovery College - under the leadership of
the great John Kelly - is launching on the evening of the 10th

UPCOMING COURSES IN GATEWAY


We have some fantastic courses lined up for the
colder months here in Gateway. Music in Mind with
the National Concert Hall is back in mid-October,
the Happiness course with Geraldine Conlon is
starting on the 7th of November and the very
special exclusive (first time in Ireland!) PeerZone
workshops will be starting on the 1st of November.
This will be a peer-led course about understanding
ourselves, understanding our distress and leading
our recovery. It was also designed by people with
lived experience of mental distress. Talk to the team
if you are interested in signing up for any of these,

Preparation time 30 minutes
Cooking time 15-20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
110g/4oz/2/3cup self-raising flour

110g/4oz/ cup caster sugar
[superfine]
110g/4oz/ butter softened
2 large eggs
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp red food dye
TO DECORATE
110g/4oz cream cheese
55g/2oz butter softened
110g/4oz/1cup icing sugar
[confectioners]
1tsp vanilla extract
150g/5 half oz ready to roll fondant
icing
Red food dye edible glitter.
Preheat oven to 190c[170c fan]

375f/gas 5 and line a 12-hole

anniversary conference on the 21st and 22nd of

The very first Wellbeing Summit will be held on
the 14th of October in the Aviva Stadium.

NEW DROP-IN IN DUBLIN 12

There is a new drop-in space in Dublin 12 which


aims to provide a welcoming space for people to
come, connect and receive information for positive
mental health and wellbeing in Dublin 12. It runs
on Tuesdays from 10 am till midday in ARC
(Crumlin) and on Thursdays from 12 till 2pm in
the Walkinstown Greenhills Resource Centre. Just
