The EU and Turkey in Recent Disputes

Since the 2008 economic crisis, the world economy has been confronting
confronts a substantial turmoil. Most countries have had a downfall in prosperity,
in the Gross Domestic Product and notably in the growing figures. Therefore,
particularly in Europe, nationalist, xenophobic and Islamophobia leaders have
come to power. Among European Union member states, several of them
exercises (plural!!!) exercise unilateral policies against recent crisis and thus, it
they entails certain disputes within the Union. Additionally, Turkey and the
European Union cooperate in the ongoing influx of immigrants. (Very good)
The European Union, which firstly achieved the economic union then the
political unity, has not adequately produced a comprehensive and quick policy
against refugee crisis. The Union is still exposed to high flow of migration and
fails to cease it. Nationalist leaders, therefore, conduct unilateral policy
(repetition!) in order to prevent the crisis to affect their domestic economy.
Indeed, the citizens of those country countries (plural again!) are not satisfied
with the burden sharing policy of the European Union. The Prime Minister of
Hungary Victor Orban holds a referendum to decide whether to accept or not
refugees or not (word order)sent by the Union without the consent of its
government.
Furthermore, the desperation of the European Union against the crisis
demonstrates the flaws of the Unions structure. Due to the political procedure,
lasting settlements and swift responses may not be performed to in many
disputes as in Southern Italy and Greece. The United Kingdom which faces high
influx of migration opted out of the Union in the June referendum as its citizens
were not contended of the recent policies. Following the referendum result,
member state leaders met in Bratislava to discuss the needed reforms in order to
save the future of the Union as the implementation of Unions own enforcement
forces.
Turkey, which its accession process begun with the 1964 Ankara Treaty,
cooperates with the European Union on the intense flow of migration caused by
the Syrian Civil War. Within the framework of the Read Mission Agreement, the
parties agreed on the refoulement of every illegal migrant to Turkey and in return,
member states will accept a refugee who applied to the legal procedures.
Moreover, Turkish officials utilize this agreement as leverage to revive the
accession negotiations.
To sum, the intense flow of migration reveals the flaws of the European
Union and force to cooperate with Turkey in order to settle the dispute. Thanks to
its young population and dynamic economy Turkey entered entering to the Union
will contribute to the solution of many issues(such as?) and will also lead to
expand the Unions economic credibility across the world.
