1. What are the objects of Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL)?

2. What are the merits and demerits of a TOL from:
a. The State Authoritys point of view
b. The occupiers point of view

3. Jason, a trainee in a bank has a girlfriend, Carol also a trainee. His father was given a TOL for a
piece of land, 6 acres in Kajang, where he built a semi-permanent house and planted with
rambutan and duku trees.
Words alone are not enough to show that he loves her so much. He made his father sign a
contract giving him that piece of land, which in turn, he gave her that piece of land as token of
love and affection. Carol then improved the land by planting more rambutan trees on it. When
she failed the course, he jilted her and demanded that the TOL be returned to him, but she
refused.
