Nevertheless, being of good character is the leadership quality that distinguishes great leadership.

It
is the quality that most people admire. Leaders of good character have integrity, courage and
compassion. They are careful and prudent. Humble in their awareness of their own limitations, they
seek out the knowledge and counsel of others. They constantly learn and others want to learn from
them. Their decisions and actions inspire employees to think and act in a way that not only
improves the bottom line, but that contributes to the well-being of the organization and society.
This brand of leadership came to the forefront of Iveys discussions with the more than 300
business, public sector and not-for-profit leaders who participated in our Leadership on Trial
research concerning the leadership implications of the global financial crisis. Perhaps not so
surprisingly, we discovered that it was prevalent in the firms that weathered and even prospered
during the crisis.

Leaders do not command excellence; they build excellence. Excellence is being all
you can be within the bounds of doing what is right for your organization. To reach
excellence you must first be a leader of good character. You must do everything you
are supposed to do.
nswer: Good health is something we take for granteduntil we start to lose it. When our health
takes a downturn, we quickly begin to question our habits and diet. God has designed the human
body so that it is a finely tuned instrument that is the most resilient on earth. It can endure fractures
and adhesions, constant pain and great stretches of tedium

WORK ETHIC

Leaders are hard workers. Leaders are also humble enough to be followers and
are led by other Leaders who love hard work. Leaders have the opposite attitude
to those who have employee mindsets and are happy working for the man.
Leaders dont try to hide the amount of work they do, neither do they boast,
they are humble servants of the grind, letting actions do the talking. Leaders
work during business hours and then come home just to go out and spend a bit
more time building their future dreams. Whether this be the extras for personal
training, the extra Meetings you make with potential Prospects for future
Business, or working on your own Self-Improvement; whatever it takes right? Are
you a leader or what?
Dont get me wrong Im not saying dont have down time Im just saying that
down time needs to be planned, all these things need set times but do not be
too rigid in your approach as we should always be able to be shifted in case a
matter is urgent. You will get the negative bystanders who criticise your actions
and tell you spend too much time away from family or too much time at work,

just be careful who you listen to and make sure that the people you take advice
from have the life you want. Hard work is what makes the difference between
working for someone elses dreams and goals and your own. In todays
economic climate it is no longer just a luxury to have some sort of passive or
multiple streams of income. It is time to get out there and do some work, to set
yourself and your family up for the future - it will make the difference in creating
a strong future.

2. HONESTY
Leaders are Honest people. Some great mentors of mine have told me that if
you are not building your own future someone else will use you to build theirs.
This is as human nature intended us to be - survival of the fittest. It is important
for those whom you have any form of relationship, business or personal, that
you are honest not just telling them what they want to hear but also telling them
what they need to hear. You need to be honest with yourself about what you can
accomplish and what you are doing daily. Is it really what you need to do to have
the life you have always wanted? Questions to be asked on a constant basis.
More importantly, your followers and the people you follow need to know that
you are going to do what you say you will do and they need to trust that you are
a leader who is always honest about their intentions. Leaders are the people
with the most heart and integrity, so much so that it spills over in all that they
do.

3. DONT QUIT
Leaders never quit. I have definitely thought about quitting on my dreams a few
times before but there is this desire so deep inside you that literally nothing will
stop you from reaching the success that you desire. At the end of the day you
dust yourself off and just keep going. Whenever you face adversity you work
harder than you did before because no matter your circumstances if you stay
consistent with the right habits, it will grow your leadership skills and work ethic
driving you to be successful. It is doing the small things over and above on a
regular basis, not quitting on yourself day in day out, that will end up giving you
what you want. If there is one thing I learned growing up is that you always
finish what you started, you never leave it half done or decide to quit when it
gets tough, and I can surely say it has contributed to much of my success.
People might try to take it away from you or disrupt your path with distraction. If

you dont quit, those guys who doubted will hear of your success through others
who admire you. Its a daily decision until it becomes a habit, then it is like
breathing and you dont even think about doing what is needed - you just go out
there and do it. If someone tells you it cant be done you want to go out there
and prove it wrong. DO NOT QUIT!

4 FRIENDLY PEOPLE
Whenever you hear feedback about your demeanour towards others, if it is
overwhelming with praise of what a nice, kind, thoughtful person you are, then
you are doing the right thing. If you dont get any feedback it is probably
because you have no respect or do little for others, Change.
It starts with a smile. Always speak to people, always say something
complimentary and always be happy. If you are not then that is your problem
and not others. Talk to your loved ones or your mentor (highly recommended to
have one of these) or a psychologist if its that bad, and remember that
everyone has their struggles but they dont need someone elses negativity to
add to their burden. Be a good listener, and not only listening to respond but
listening to understand. Have you ever noticed how people often forget
someones name right after they meet them? This is because they were already
thinking how to respond. Dont be that guy. Leaders know the value of listening,
and then truly giving from the heart and at the end of the day this will turn
around to pay you back 100 fold.

5.PERPETUAL LEARNERS
Successful people are lifelong learners. Leaders read, listen to audios, find time
to meditate, experience life. They read books on financial education,
relationships, personalities and people skills - something many people lack in
this era of technology and social media. Its all about swiping right on tinder
Amirite. Always try to learn from successes and also out of failures. Failures are
only bad when you dont learn. Failures mean you have experience and more
experience is always a good thing. Study people and relationships and what
makes individuals tick. Im not sure if you have attended any self-help or
personal/business development seminars but how you connect with people is
what will make the difference in your everyday success because in life most of

the time its not what you know its who you know. These skills take learning and
practice (lots of practice).

6.DO MORE ATTITUDE

Successful people over deliver. They give you more than expected. Leaders
always deliver more than you bargain for, always over deliver on a service or
product. Be realistic in what you can deliver and find ways to over deliver on
what you said. There is a wonderful book by Harvey Mackay, Beware of the
naked man who offers you his shirt: Do What You Love, Love What You Do, and
Deliver More Than You Promise. Mackay a very successful man and is
considered by Fortune magazine as Mr Make things happen a leader in his field
which is no surprise is it? More about books and over delivering, a while back I
read a book called The 15 Laws of Invaluable Growth by John C. Maxwell,
telling a story of a lady who pressed his suit the day he needed to fly out. He
called on the day, booked for it to be dropped off and said he will pick it up on
the way to his flight. Not only did that lady who runs the business deliver the
suit personally to his door, she did it early and bought a thank you gift for
supporting her business. Now that is going above and beyond for the client and
will retain business in the long run.

7. SOLUTION ORIENTATED
Successful people always think solutions rather than problems and they find
them quickly. What does every situation mean for your business or goals? If it is
blocking your path, how do you and what can you use to make a path through,
over or around it? Dont be a victim. Dont say thats just life, its hard or I cant.
Dont tell me about things you cant do because success is achieved by the
people who do things others wont. There are countless stories out there of
genuine adversities people have overcome to achieve success so dont be the
one who lets your first world problems get in the way of your success. The
human mind is a very powerful thing and changing the way you think is
important. Anyone can change his or her circumstances but it wont happen
overnight, however you can change your mindset overnight. Where others see
problems, be the person who sees solutions.
In summary, even the person you were 5 minutes ago wont dictate whether you
can be a leader or not. If you really want it, go for it. As we said at the outset

commit, then practice and these skills can be learned. If you are looking for
support or not sure where to start, then let us know what youd like to achieve
and we can point you in the right direction.

Question: "What does the Bible say about friends?"

Answer: Human beings were created to be social creatures, meaning that we are most comfortable
when we have family, friends and acquaintances. Friendship is an important element in a fulfilled,
contented life, and those who have close friends, whether one or two or a multitude, will usually be
happy and well-adjusted. At the same time, those who call themselves our friends may cause us
grief and hardship, constantly disappointing us. So what exactly is a friend, and what does the Bible
have to say about friends?
On the positive side, friends can console and help us when we are in trouble, as when Barzillai the
Gileadite consoled David when he was being hunted by Saul (2 Samuel 19:25-26) or when
Jephthahs daughters friends consoled her before her death (Judges 11:37-38). A friend may also
rebuke in love, proving more faithful than a hypocritical flatterer (Proverbs 27:6). One of the greatest
biblical examples of friendship is David and Jonathan, son of King Saul. Jonathans loyalty to his
friend, David, exceeded that to his own father and his own ambitions (1 Samuel 18:1-4; 20:14-17).
So attached was David to his loyal friend that, after Jonathans death, David wrote a song to him, a
tribute filled with heart-wrenching pathos (2 Samuel 1:30-32). Theirs was a friendship closer than
brotherhood. In the New Testament, many of Pauls letters begin and end with tributes to his friends,
those who ministered to him, supported him, prayed for him, and loved him.
Friendship can have its negative aspects as well. Supposed friends can lead us into sin, as when
Jonadab persuades Amnon to rape his half-sister, Tamar (2 Samuel 13:1-6). A friend can lead us
astray in regard to our faith, as they sometimes did in Israel, leading others to worship false gods
(Deuteronomy 13:6-11). In those days, such an act was punishable by death. Even if our friends do
not lead us astray, they can provide false comfort and bad advice, as Jobs friends did, making his
suffering worse and displeasing the Lord (Job 2:11-13,6:14-27, 42:7-9). Friends can also prove false,
pretending affection for their own motives and deserting us when our friendship no longer benefits
them (Psalm 55:12-14; Proverbs 19:4, 6-7). Friendship can be broken down through gossip
(Proverbs 16:28) or grudges (Proverbs 17:9). Friends should be chosen carefully because, as Paul
told the Corinthians, Bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Proverbs 1:10-19 and 4:14-19 contain warnings about friends and how we should choose them. We
are not to associate with those who entice us to do wrong, no matter how appealing their friendship
seems to be. Those whose feet rush to sin should be avoided. The path they choose is no place for
a Christian whose choice should be to follow the path of the righteous. Only that path leads to
friendship with God, which is the ultimate goal of a Christian.

Scriptures for a Sound Mind

by Joyce Meyer
As you begin to claim your mind back from the enemy, he will not want to give up the place that he has had. You will
have to do battle with his lies and confusion.
Your first step is to declare out loud that you will not allow any outside force to do your thinkingno man and no spirit.
There are spiritual laws that demons must obey. They cannot stay where a man wills them not to stay. Your power is
in the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and the Word of God. Ask God to give you discernment of the lies of the
devil.
Think about what you are thinking about. As you recognize a lie to your mind, always defend yourself out loud. That
means speaking to Satan and the evil forces out loud, binding them in the Name of Jesus, and forbidding them to lie
to you and to use your mind.
When you catch a lie to your mind, use this prescription regularlyand you will regain peace, your memory, restful
nights, and the ability to concentrate and comprehend.
You are in a battleyou are not alonefor all of Gods people fight this same fight (Ephesians 6:12). Make up your
mind not to give up! According to Colossians 3:2, set your mind on things above and keep it set! As you begin this
battle, it will seem worse than ever. The reason is that the demonic powers are fighting to keep their place in your
mind (and in your thinking). Call upon Gods grace in the Name of Jesus, and He will give you the power of the Holy
Spirit to overcome every evil tendency fully.
Remember, regaining your mind is a process. We all fail at one time or another. God knows our weakness; that is
why He gave us 1 John 1:9. Just ask for forgiveness and see the Blood of Jesus washing away your sin. Dont give
up! Continue claiming what belongs to you (your mind and your thinking belong to you), and Jesus will help you
overcome.
Second Timothy 1:7 says, For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!

Additional Scriptures for a Sound Mind

When you hear a lie going through your mind, say out loud:
2 Corinthians 10:5 Satan, you are a liar. I will not receive (or believe) your lie in the Name of Jesus.
1 John 4:4 I remind you that it is written, He that is within me is greater than he that is in the world. I command you
to bow your knee to the Name of Jesus and leave me.
(Now you have pulled the lie outjust as you pull a weed out of the ground. An empty hole remains where the weed
was, and you will need to fill the space you cast the lie out of with Scripture.)
Philippians 4:8 Begin to think on the Word or begin to sing a praise song to God. Make a conscious effort to fill your
mind with good, pure, wholesome, and lovely thoughts.

1. We are to guard our minds against false teaching--The Bible encourages us to

contend for, The faith which was once and for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3
NKJ). That means the Gospel message thats been passed down for 2,000 years.
How do you guard your mind against false teachings? Know the truth. If you know
the truth, you can instantly spot a lie. Treasury agents are not trained to detect
counterfeiting by handling counterfeit bills. They give them real bills and study
them so well that when a counterfeit dollar bill is put in their hands, they
immediately know that its false.

2. We are to guard our minds against temptation--Psalm 101:3 says, I will not set
before my eyes anything that is worthless (ESV). Thats a good verse to put on
your television. When was the last time you actually got up and switched channels

because what you were seeing was worthless? When I start to feel tempted, I often
say, Lord, I mentally put on the helmet of salvation that Scripture talks about in
Ephesians 6:17. What does a helmet do? It protects my mind. When I do this, Im
saying, Lord, I want you to cover my mind with your blood. I will be guarding my
mind from temptation.

3. We are to guard our minds against counterfeit spiritual experiences--Galatians

1:6-8 says even if an angel tells you something different than what the Word of God
says, dont believe him.

4. We are to guard our minds against pride--Pride is the sin that God judges
quicker than any other single sin. Aaron got prideful, and God smote him. Uzziah got
prideful, and God smote him. Pride is the sin that got Satan kicked out of Heaven.
People will tell you things that will puff you up. You have to remain humble and not
let pride enter your mind.

5. We are to guard against an overworked mind--We strain our minds too much by
overwork. This can cloud our ability to make sound judgments. Thats why we need
to have a day of rest every week.
Answer: The Bible describes humility as meekness, lowliness and absence of self. The Greek word
translated humility in Colossians 3:12 and elsewhere literally means lowliness of mind, so we see
that humility is a heart attitude, not merely an outward demeanor. One may put on an outward show
of humility but still have a heart full of pride and arrogance. Jesus said that those who are poor in
spirit would have the kingdom of heaven. Being poor in spirit means that only those who admit to an
absolute bankruptcy of spiritual worth will inherit eternal life. Therefore, humility is a prerequisite for
the Christian. James 1:19
Question: "What does the Bible say about integrity?"
Answer: The dictionary defines integrity as a firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic
values, or incorruptibility; incapable of being bribed or morally corrupted. In the Bible, the Hebrew
word translated integrity in the Old Testament means the condition of being without blemish,
completeness, perfection, sincerity, soundness, uprightness, wholeness. Integrity in the New
Testament means honesty and adherence to a pattern of good works.
Jesus is the perfect example of a man of integrity. After He was baptized, He went into the
wilderness to fast for forty days and nights, during which time Satan came to Him at His weakest to
try to break His integrity and corrupt Him. Jesus was wholly man and wholly God at the same time,
and He tempted in every way we are, yet he never sinned (Hebrews 4:15); that is the definition of
integrity. He is the only one who was ever without blemish, perfect, completely truthful, and always

showing a pattern of good works. As sinful human beings, our integrity is flawed, but Jesus integrity
is perfect. When we are in Christ, we partake of His divine nature, having been given new natures
in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and that new nature is one of integrity because it is His nature.
The Bible also describes integrity as the truth. What is the truth? Jesus is the only real truth and the
only way to attain eternal life. Nobody comes to the Father unless he goes through Jesus who is the
way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Many times, Jesus prefaced His words by saying, Truly, I say
to you, which, in essence, means I tell you the truth. Jesus never lied, and His actions defined
integrity. Once we come to Christ in faith and repentance, He gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit who
assists us in developing our incorruptible integrity. It is impossible to have real integrity without Jesus
as our Lord and Savior. May the Lord give us strong integrity that becomes incorruptible through the
power of the Holy
