Measurements to be Made:
Discharge
Pipe diameters and lengths
Pipe materials
Manometer readings
III.
Experimental Procedure:
1. The hoses (tubes) with quick release couplings were attached to opposite ends of the pipe to be
used. Manometer attachments were also done in a similar manner.
2. Excess water from the manometer reading was drained beforehand. This was done by opening the
valve and closing it after all the water was removed from the tube.
3. The hydrodynamics trainer was turned on and water was passed through the pipe by slowly
turning the valve of the intake hose.
4. The manometer reading valve was opened and manometer and discharge readings were recorded.
This was done for three trials.
5. The same procedure was done for the different pipes fitted in the hydrodynamics trainer.
