As a result of this lesson, students will be able to:
Identify the State and Territory Parliament through a quick quiz
Undertake a group investigation into the roles of these Parliaments through a jigsaw activity.
Research the internet to answer listed questions that explore real examples of the roles of State.
Teachers Prior Preparation/ Organisation:
Move tables quickly upon arrival. 5 groups of 5 for 25 in class.

Relates to chapter 2.2 Civics and Citizenship Textbook

- Answer 2 questions on worksheet.
2. Activity 2:
Your table will represent one role numbered 1-5
Part 1: Your table needs to only complete the question for your table number.
Eg role of state and territory in criminal law.
Investigate only that topic and Write answers on your sheet for that question.
After 5 minutes, you will become the expert for your topic, and will need to go
to a table to share the word.
Which table do you move too? On your table there is an a, b, c, d, e. Each
of these faces somebodys seat. You are then that number and go to table A.
Then you will share with that table what you have learnt. Time 15 minutes.
As a group make individual notes.
The information can be found reading Chapter 2.2. page 41 47.
