It helps the soldier in detecting the presence of intruders efficiently and accurately.
6. Abstract
The proposed work presents designing and development of a multipurpose intelligent soldier
assist.Army base camps and tents are being attacked by enemies in spite of heavy security.On 2nd
January 2016, a heavily armed group attacked the Pathankot Air Force Station. If we know intruders
movement towards tents we can eliminate the rate of casualties.
The system consists of Doppler sensors and ultrasonic sensors .The system will continuously check
for any enemy interference using these sensors.If the approaching person is a soldier itself, the wrist
band of the soldier will transmit a signal. On receiving this signal at the tent, the soldier approach will
be confirmed.Otherwise the approaching person will be an enemy or an intruder.The enemy entry will
be alerted at the soldier in the tent using a vibrating motor.The entering persons position will be
displayed on the control unit PC and the PC in the tent.
Using conventional methods,usually cameras are used to detect the intruders.But using stealth
technologies,the enemies can easily jam these cameras and can blur them.Our project overcomes this
conventional disadvantage.
7. Methodology/ experimental design
The proposed project is composed of either Doppler radar or ultrasonic sensor to detect movement
in four directions with distance parameter and whenever a movement detected,then system check
whether approached person is authorized soldier by checking the RF receiver and alert the soldier in
tent.Doppler RADAR is a specialized RADAR that uses Doppler effect to produce velocity data about
objects at a distance,it does this by bouncing a microwave signal off a desired target and analyzing how
the object motion has altered the frequency of the returned signal.Gives direct and highly accurate
measurements of targets velocity.
The wrist band of the soldier will transmit a signal. On receiving this signal at the tent, the soldier
approach will be confirmed.If an authorized entry is detected by the system it indicates via a green
LED to soldier in tent.If an unauthorized entry is detected by the system it alerts the soldier in tent by
vibrating his arm band and also indicates via a red LED and also sends a signal to control station via
RF data modem and plot the status in PC as well as plot the status in a PC within the tent .The PC part
has visual studio program to plot the data received as well as show alert message.

The social relevance of our project is very high.It helps the soldier in detecting the presence of
intruders efficiently and hence ensures the safety of the country.
