Day 1:
Objective: SWBAT connect the parts of the body with the five senses.
ACTFL Standards:
Standard 1.1: Students engage in conversations, provide and obtain information, express feelings and
emotions, and exchange opinions.
Standard 1.2: Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics.
Standard 3.1: Students reinforce and further their knowledge of other disciplines through the foreign
language.
Standard 3.2: Students acquire information and recognize the distinctive viewpoints that are only
available through the foreign language and its cultures

Description
Students will complete a Do Now in
which they will answer getting to know
you questions. For example: What is your
favorite part of the body and why?
Students already learned the names of the
parts of the body in Spanish. After
quickly reviewing it as a class, students
will have a quick turn and talk with their
partner practicing the names of each body
part in Spanish.

5 minutes

10 minutes

Once that is finished, students will once


again review the parts of the body through
the song called Las partes del cuerpo.
Students will be introduced to the five

senses through a song called Los
Sentidos. Through this song students
will start to connect the five senses with
the parts of the body. Once, students have
understood the new vocabulary they will
play a game called Conecta el sentido
con la parte del cuerpo.
Students will receive a packet with
images of the parts of the body and cards
with the name of the senses in Spanish.
Students must connect the image of the

Writing activity
Students will receive a worksheet that

First, students will describe what they


noticed within this story. What did they
hear? What connections did they make to
previous knowledge?

Second, students will express their


feelings regarding the story. They will
give their opinion and explain why they
liked or didnt like the story. Once this is
over, students will then work with a
partner to answer reading comprehension
questions.
Students will receive a worksheet that
allows them to practice what they learned
in Spanish class. Within this worksheet

Students will see a video of the story.
They will then be given a worksheet to
complete based on the read aloud.
Students will listen to the story closely to
hear the days of the week. They will then
write the assigned vocabulary words in
English and Spanish. Ex. Lunes is
Monday.
Students will once again see the video of
the story. They will have to repeat the
same activity as before but this time
focused on the five senses and the parts of
the body.
