GRADES There will be 9 quizzes (25%), a midterm exam (25%), and a final exam (50%). The lowest quiz will
be dropped.
HOMEWORK Homework will be assigned but will NOT be collected. Homework assignments will be posted
on the class website each Friday. Quizzes will be held on Thursdays in recitation section.
EXAM The exams are closed book- no books, notes, phones, or programmable calculators. Picture I.D. is
required and must be presented upon request. Students are expected to be present for all exams. There are no early
exams. A late exam will be administered only at the discretion of the instructor in the event of a verifiable
emergency. In the event of a verifiable emergency, you must contact the instructor as soon as possible, and in any
case, prior to the next regularly scheduled class.
GRADING SCHEME The grading will be based on the following scale: 100-90 (A); 89-80 (B); 79-70 (C); 6960 (D). Regrading will NOT be considered once the quiz or the exam leaves the classroom. Return the quiz or
the exam to your TA immediately when you see the grading mistakes. Your TA will be responsible to the
regrading of the quiz and the instructor will take care of the regrading the exams.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY Students are responsible for informing themselves of UCIs policies regarding
academic dishonesty. Students found in violation of the code are subject to penalties ranging from loss of credit
for work involved to a grade of F in the course, and possible risk of suspension or probation. The academic
dishonesty policy will be enforced in all areas of the course, including homework, quizzes, and exams. For more
information about the academic dishonesty policy and procedures, including information about your rights and
responsibilities as a student, see
