Ping LAN Switch continuously from PC.

8.

Remove the optical fiber from the current working GE port. After the switching of the
protection group, connect the optical fiber back to the GE port.

Expected
results

1.

In step 7, the PC can communicate with the LAN switch.

2.

In step 8, communication between the PC and the LAN switch is interrupted for a while, and
then the communication recovers.

Remarks

The optical ports in a protect group must be configured with auto-negotiation function. When the
protect group is in the forced mode, the switchover of the protect group does not occur and the
communication is interrupted if the Tx fiber is removed from the working port.
