9:50pm on Tuesday, October 11,
following numerous reports of

scene and determined that there

suspect fled the residence after

Officer Mayo located the subject
in the area of Gates Street and
Cushman Street. According to the
Monson Police Department, the
subject was
placed into
custody without
incident. The
subject is being
charged with two
counts of assault
with a dangerous
weapon,
possession of a
firearm without
a license,
discharging a
firearm within
500 of a
dwelling,

possession of ammunition without


a license, improper storage of a
firearm, possession of a firearm
with a defaced serial number, and
trespassing with a firearm.

Uncooperative Horse

Fire at Lamcotec

Firearm Threat Arrest

On September 8 at around 5:00am,


the Monson Police Department
received a 9-1-1 call regarding a loose
horse on Wales Road. The horse was
eventually returned to its home and
secured.

Just before midnight on Friday,


September 16, the Monson Fire
Department responded to a reported
fire at Lamcotec on Bethany Road.
Smoke and flames were reported and it
was believed to have started from
something electrical. Engine 3, Engine
2, Medic 1, Rescue 1, and C-1 all
responded. Crews were on scene until
around 2:00am. The fire was
extinguished and no one was injured.
The fire was contained to the mens
room on the second floor of the
building.

At 8:43pm on Saturday, September 24,


a call was received regarding someone
being threatened by an individual who
had a firearm. The suspect left in a
vehicle prior to officers arrival, but was
located and stopped down the street.
The operator was placed under arrest
and a firearm was recovered. The
subject was transported to the Monson
Police Department for booking and was
charged with two counts of vandalizing
property, negligent operation of a
motor vehicle, OUI liquor, possessing
an open container of alcohol in a
motor vehicle, three counts of assault
with a dangerous weapon, and
disorderly conduct.

Drug Possession
At 11:33pm on September 11, a unit
initiated a motor vehicle stop on a
vehicle on State Avenue. Following a
roadside investigation, three individuals
were charged with possession of a class
A substance.

Road Rage Arrest


At 5:12pm on September 12, a road
rage incident was reported on Silver
Street. The caller stated that someone
in a pickup truck got out of their
vehicle and started banging on the
hood of the callers vehicle. Shortly
after, the suspect was located, arrested,
and charged with vandalizing property
and assault.

Fall from Second Story


On September 14 at around 11:30am,
a call was received regarding an
individual who fell off of a ladder from
the second story. Medic 1 responded
and transported the subject to Wing
Hospital in Palmer.

Illegal Gun Possession


On September 14, officers responded
to Hovey Road just before 4:00pm after
receiving numerous reports of someone
firing a gun in the woods. An individual
was located with firearms and
ammunition that he was not licensed to
be in possession of. He was placed
under arrest and charged with
possessing a large capacity firearm, two
counts of carrying a firearm without a
license, possessing ammunition without
an FID/LTC, and possessing a large
capacity feeding device.

Elevator Rescues
On both September 15 and September
20, individuals got stuck in the elevator
at Monson High School. In both
incidents, the Monson Police and Fire
Departments were able to free them
from the elevator within a short time.

Drunk Driver Arrested


On September 18 at 10:38pm, an
erratic operator was reported in the
State Avenue area. It was reported that
the operator of the vehicle left a gas
station in Palmer and seemed
intoxicated. After locating the vehicle,
units placed the operator under arrest
for OUI liquor and negligent operation
of a motor vehicle.

Assault & Battery on a


Police Officer
On September 22, at 9:04pm, a unit
stopped a car on Wales Road. The
operator was placed under arrest for
marked lanes violation, negligent
operation of a motor vehicle, OUI
liquor, which was a second offense, and
also assault & battery on a police
officer.

Deer Struck by Car


On September 26 at around 8:00pm,
a caller reported that he hit a deer with
his vehicle on Moulton Hill Road. Due
to the nature of the injuries, the deer
was dispatched by an Environmental
Police Officer.

The vehicle was located traveling down
Palmer Road. A unit attempted to stop
the vehicle but the operator failed to
stop while traveling at a slow rate of
speed. Once stopped, the operator was
placed under arrest and charged with
marked lanes violation, failure to stop
for police, negligent operation of a
motor vehicle, OUI liquor, possession
of an open container of alcohol in a
motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a
property damage accident, and fugitive
from justice on court warrant.

Basement Fire
On October 2 at around 11:00pm, the
Monson Fire Department was
dispatched to a reported fire in the
basement of a residence. The fire was
in an electrical box and selfextinguished. Engine 3, Engine 2,
Rescue 1, Tanker 1, A-2 and C-1 all
responded to the scene.
