Exposition about Christianity vs Islam

Both christianity and Islam are very wide spread religions in the world which have a great impact
on the lives of the their beleievers especially spiritually.Their common originality ,values and some
believes has enabled most of their believers to respect and try to understand each others faith.
Background and main beliefs of christianity.
Christianity developed from judaism and is based on the life,teaching ,death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ.The first christian were all ethnically jewish or proselytes.
The religion has three importants branches: Eastern orthodoxy ,Prostestantism and Roman
Catholicism.As of 2014 ,there are 2 billion christians in the world ,which is one third of the human
population.
Background and main beliefs of Islam
Islam developing as from the 7th century with the reconstruction of prophet Muhammads life after
his death .Basically the origin of the islam is tied to the economic ,political and military.
Muhammad started conveying Islam at Mecca and later moved to Medina ,where the tribes of
Arabia were united to a polity of Arab Muslim religion.
At the moment is a major world religion, the world's second-largest religion[1] and the fastestgrowing major religion in the world,[2][3][4] with over 1.7 billion followers[5] or 23% of the
global population with two importants branches : 97% sunni and 3% Chii islam.
Comparison between Islam and Christianity
Consider Allah as the name of God
Consider Jesus to be prophet , a messenger of
God and a messiah.
Muhammad was the last prophet and he
recorded the word of God verbatim in the
Qu'ran .

Consider Yahweh ,Jehovah or God

Belief about Jesuschrist like him being son of
God, and savior of mankind.
Belief in the holy trinity: God,Son and the
Holy Spirit.
Belief Jesus was conceived by virgin Mary
and was crucified but resurrected.

It is believed that Allah repeatedly revealed it

to Muhammad verbally through angel Jibril
and the original Arabic version is the final
revelation from God which is verbal.

Practices: prayer,sacraments (Some branches)

worship in church ,reading of the Bible ,acts
of charity ,communion,etc

Practice the five pillars: shahadah(There is no

God and Muhammad is his messenger ),Salat
(prayer fives times daily ),Zakah( charity to the
poor) and Hajj ( pilgrimage to Mecca)

The bible was written by 40 writers,divine

guidance and authorship,even getting
messages from the angel.

Final conclusion and my final thought.

These religions share common origins ,values and some believes like God being supreme prophets
being Gods messenger and judgment of humanity based on actions and faith while on earth.The
Quran and the Bible are considered as the two holy books written through Gods inspiration though
the Quran is believed was verbally revelead to prophet.
