ABSTRACT

Even though there are conventional machines for paper cutting and punching. They are
available separately for the either purpose. And the costs of these machines are unaffordable to
the small scale paper binding shops. These conflictions necessitate the fabrication of machine
which serves for integrated cutting and punching operations with the minimum cost to meet the
requirements of small scale paper binding shops and also for large scale binders.
Our project aims to achieve the integration of paper cutting and punching by available
hydraulic press using uniquely designed tool that has both cutting blade and punches and
detachable for easy servicing.
We surveyed existing machines with the binders. We made an attempt to integrate
punches and blade in a single back supporting plate. We drew 3-D models blade, spring, guide
rod, punches, and supporting plate. We made hand calculations for each design. We machined
tools and fabricated this in an available local fabrication unit in the Udyambagh, Belgaum.
