TYPES OF PROJECT
IMPLEMENTATION
This type of a project is execution of an idea , design ,algorithm or
policy

ENHANCEMENT
In these projects we involve implementing new features, correct faults,

MIGRATION
These projects involve improvements to keep software up to date in a
changing environment
Eg.This example is from my own work experience.
While working for FEDEX as a Weblogic admin we were remotely
controlling the weblogic servers with a tool called WLCA, the
stakeholders decided to design a new tool called ALPS so the
requirements were given to the development team to implement this
tool. A new tool called ALPS to remotely control the servers was
developed based on the requirements (Implementation project).
So after the implementation of the ALPS software while we were using
this software as users we thought additional features or enhancements
in the ALPS tool would be more beneficial so the development team
was contacted and the required changes were made and hence a new
version of ALPS tool was released (Enhancement project)
The stakeholders decided to move from Oracle Weblogic server 9g to
10.3.2 to update the servers, so we migrated to different versions of
Weblogic server for better functionality and features (Migration
project).
