course that to day I completed my course. I hope passing the course with good percentage.
That sir, I am of 70 years of age and a migrant to US from Bangladesh. I am a war veteran,
served as the Secretary of a water transport corporation and final joined Nations Police service
and retired as the police general. This course and your name would remain imbued in my heart
so long I live.
With lots of heartiest thanks to you for being able to keep up to the expectation as your worthy
student. Once again,

DEAR Professor Bart van Heerikhuizen.

My Name is [naam, red.] from Somalia, I was fond of sociology since for a period of time. My
first day at your class is so memorable, i was nervous and uneasy but because of your
presence it was fun all the way.You helped me a lot to overcome hard exams recitation, you
make my course easy and fun.
Classical Sociology Theory, Prepares me for a lifetime of change, by developing my
appreciation of diversity. It directs attention to how the parts of society fits together and change
Such as human behavior, social organization, culture, social change. It helps me obtain the
skills tools i need to take a more active role in creating and participation in such groups.
I really love Classical Sociological Theory, simply because it helps me, better understand my
self and the motivation of others around us. While we are all creatures of the various groups,
organization, and government in our environment, we are also their creators.
N:B Thank you teacher, for sharing your gifts of teaching with us. You are not only our teacher,
you are our friend, Authority and guide, all rolled into one person. You really helped me
understand when i was struggling. We will always be grateful to your support and

kindness.way.You helped me a lot to overcome hard exams recitation, you make my course
easy and fun.

I am [naam, red.] I am from Algeria. I'd like to thank you for the opportunity to take up your
course. All my life i've been denied quality education. In Algeria education is for free, but it is
worthless and obsolete. With you I can say with confidence that with your course, i've had this
quality education. Again, millions of thanks.

Hello,
my name is [naam, red.] and I am a philoshophy and sociology teacher at Nichita Stanescu
High-school from Bucharest, Romania.
I want to thank you for the course and for the way you structure it. It was very helpfull for my
sociology classes here. I also want to thank you for your kind and warm voice which was nice to
hear and easy to follow during the hearing of the course.
Thank you very much professor !

Dear Mr. van Heerikhuizen,

My name is [naam, red.], a 24-year old A-levels Sociology Teacher, from Islamabad, Pakistan.
Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, that too in Sociology, I happened to land myself
a job in one of the schools here. Contrary to popular belief regarding most teachers here, I
actually wanted to be one. I used to dream of ways to instill new ideas into young minds. Not
that I am too old either, haha.
More importantly, it was the love for Sociology and an introduction to the discipline that I wanted
to impart knowledge regarding in the young generation of Pakistanis. I enrolled myself in this
course of yours primarily to reinforce my understanding of the subject. My grade may portray
another picture, but I was rather focused on learning than being examined. This is also one of
the many traits I try to teach my students. I feel that most of our love for learning is forcibly
extracted from us due to examinations. Nonetheless, that is entirely another debate.
I just wanted to tell you how much your course has truly helped me out, especially the way you
taught about base & superstructure when it came to Marx. I use that house-concept (of the
basement and all) with my students whenever I teach them about Marx now. And they tend to
understand it so much better than what the textbooks attempt to explain. So, truly, thank you for
that!

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I was unable to attend a "proper" university, and was
left with the option of opting for University of London International Programmes. The degree is a
distance-learning programme, and although some institutions in Pakistan try to offer tutor
support for them, they lack in expertise. This was the prime reason I thought of self-teaching
myself. After successfully graduating with an Upper Second Class Honors (2:1) in BSc
Sociology, I thought I'll look outward for my postgraduate studies. You inspired me so much, I
looked up University of Amsterdam right after your lesson on Mandeville. As fate has it,
however, University of Amsterdam also asks for academic recommendations, of which I do not
have any. And honestly, I do not know how to go about this puzzling situation.
So, here's me requesting you for something that maybe you never get around to due to myriads
of other requests placed from other students, is it possible that you write me a
recommendation/reference letter? I realize this course was not enough to exhibit my learning or
academic prowess to you as a tutor. However, I am beginning a research project of my own
soon, and if you feel it's possible, I would like to present the methodology and findings to you.
This grants me a chance to show you how academically capable I am, so as to write a
recommendation letter for me.
This has gone on to be longer than I imagined. I apologize for taking up a lot of your time. I hope
to hear from you soon, although secretly knowing that it may be close to impossible.
Nonetheless, thank you for helping me become a better teacher!
Kind regards,
Your biggest fan!
