Assignment for MGM3201 Organizational Behavior

Semester I 2016/2017

Choose any small or medium sized organization (SME) in the service sector that is
operated in Terengganu. SME in the service sector can be defined as a company
that has an annual revenue of less than 20 million or full time employees of not
more than 75.
Write a case study about the chosen company. Your case study should include the
following elements:
1.

Introduction. Organization background, history,

employees, department and etc. (10 marks)

Area of interest. Relate your case study with any topic in the Organizational
Behaviour syllabus. Please study the topic of your interest before you go to
the company. This will ensure that you are prepared with the specific
questions related to the topic. Prepare the questions regarding the topic
that you would like to explore. (10 marks)

Specific problems related to the issues discovered in (3). Identify the

problems or challenges faced by the company especially with the current
business environment (i.e. financial uncertainties, political and ethical
issues, retrenchment, unemployment). Discuss its impact to the company
and employees (i.e. low income, high stress, no job security, losing
consumer confidence and etc). (50 marks)

4.

Recommendations. Suggest solutions for the company to overcome their

problems based on your understanding about the topic. Please support
your answer with a good theoretical understanding through sources such
as journal articles, books other than the main textbook and etc. (30
marks)
