The student synthesizes information and applies critical thinking in relation to stereotypes in films. ***produce a multimedia presentation with graphics, images, and sound that analyzes and criticizes films in relation to stereotypes. Differentiation strategies to meet diverse learner needs: ***Present related terms and age-appropriate film clips to establish students understanding of stereotypes. ***Supply varied samples of film clips for students to analyze with reference to the ideas of stereotypes. ENGAGEMENT Group survey: Ask pupils to decide which one they would most like to have as their teacher. Let the students share their reasons for their choices. Teacher will reveal the true identities of images. EXPLORATION Establish important terms related to the topic using Kahoot! EXPLANATION Ask the following questions: How do you feel about peoples judgement towards a race, gender, personality? How should we react to attitudes towards stereotypes? ELABORATION Students will watch a movie clip to be analyzed with guide questions. EVALUATION Group work: Each group is given a site to visit to access the video and present their Media Awareness presentation.
