As per Hydrology Directorate, WAPDA,


Mangla River Jhelum downstream Mangla
will be in medium to high flood at 1100 hrs
dated 14 Sep 2014 with discharge of
110,000 to 150,000 CS through Mangla
Power House and Spillway.
FFD Lahore has intimated that according to
latest hydrological conditions and breaching
of bunds between Qadirabad and Punjnad
on River Chenab, the risk of High to Very
High Flood Levels at Guddu & Sukkur has
decreased. Therefore, River Indus at
Guddu & Sukkur may attain Medium to
High Flood Levels ranging between
400,000 cusecs to 500,000 cusecs from
16 18 September 2014.

STATUS OF NATIONAL HIGHWAYS& MOTORWAYS


AJ&K Roads
Muzaffarabad Chakothi Road (S-3), where road has been damaged between kilometre 41 to 43 due to landslide. Contractor has mobilised
machinery. Traffic diverted and moving on right bank side, i.e. Hattian Chinary Road.
G-B Roads
Dumping of boulders at Hotto kilometre 156 on-going.
Punjab South
Multan Mianwali Link Road, due to heavy flood in River Chenab, District Administration and Army Authorities have blocked the road for all
types of traffic on 11 September 2014 at 2330 hrs. On the instructions of Breach Operation Committee, mechanical breach was carried out on
approach road to Head Muhammad Wala Bridge left side at Km 5+900 in 50 meter length on 11 September 2014 at 0300 hrs, whereas
explosive breaching was done by Pakistan Army at 1500hrs on the same day. Now these two breaching sections have been merged and
length of breaching section has increased to 300 meters. Flood water is still flowing through the breached section.
Shershah (N-70) Mechanical breaching of road at kilometre 19-20 was done on 12 September 2014 in the evening. Due to breaching of
Shershah Bund, floodwater is flowing over top the road on two and a half kilometre length between kilometre 19-21. The road is closed for all
types of traffic since 1830hrs on 12 September 2014 due to breaching of following sections:
Between Km. 19-20 near Ghagra Chowk.
At Km. 26 between Railway Crossing and Taliri Canal on Muzaffargarh Bypass.
At Km 27+600.

Motorways:
Discharge at Indus Bridge and Jundi Bridge on M-1 being monitored. Discharge at Jhelum Bridge on M-2 being monitored.
As reported by NHA Field Formation, contractors along all vulnerable points have been mobilised along with machinery to cater for any
emergency.
