MISSION:

The Junior Marketing Association aims to create an


atmosphere conducive to learning and development of its members,
both curricular and co-curricular; build essential connections
and affiliations between its members and outside organizations;
prepare each of its members for a challenging world outside the
mother institution, De La Salle Lipa; and to arm every graduate
with the knowledge, skills, and experiences fundamental in the
practice of the Marketing Profession.

VISION:
The Junior Marketing Association envisions itself as an
effectual organization affiliated with cardinal associations,
both inside and outside De La Salle Lipa that will further endue
the mother institution to produce Marketing Major Graduates who
are academically prepared, skilled, confident, disciplined and
conscious of their duties to God, to their country, and to
themselves.

CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

Preamble:
We, members of the Junior Marketing Association- De La
Salle Lipa, animated by Lasallian ideals and vision in pursuit of
building a creative, market-focused set of individuals whose
actions are concentrated in the recognition and satisfaction of
the constantly changing needs of the Lasallian community and in
the realization of a unified and well-coordinated organization
which will be a tool in improving ourselves, intellectually,
spiritually and morally, do hereby ordain and promulgate this
constitution.

Article 1
Name of the Organization:
The name of the organization shall be the JUNIOR MARKETING
ASSOCIATION or JMA.
Article 2
Objectives:
Section 1:

Alongside De La Salle Lipa, The Junior


Marketing Association aims to produce and
develop Christian-oriented business leaders
in the field of Marketing.

Section 2:

To initiate, coordinate, and support programs


responsive to the needs of its members.

Section 3:

To expose students to various field-related


activities that will harness their skills,
creativity and competitiveness as preparation
for the professional world.

Section 4:

To establish linkages between its members and


educational institutions, student
associations and business sectors that will
benefit their future endeavors.

Section 5:

To inform the students about the thrusts and


prospects in Marketing while simultaneously
keeping them abreast with the developments
and changing trends in the said field.

Section 6:

To develop programs for students to increase


their skills, knowledge and understanding of
and experience in the Marketing field.

Section 7:

To train its members to be competitive in the


field of Marketing through the utilization of
knowledge and skills acquired from the mother
institution.

Section 8:

To train students as team-educators by


conducting team-building activities, team
buildings and workshops that will instil the
value of camaraderie, cooperation, creativity
and teamwork among its participants.

Section 9:

To instill values of leadership, service and


commitment among its members through various
organizational activities.

Section 10:

To develop and enhance the social awareness


and civic consciousness of its members by
incorporating socio-economic matters in its
programs.

Article 3
Membership:
Section 1:

Membership is open to all bona fide Bachelor


of Science in Business Administration Major
in Marketing Management students of the
Tertiary school of De La Salle Lipa.

Section 2:

Members are classified as official members


who actively participate & cooperate in every
activity of JMA by virtue of their own will.

Section 3:

Acceptance of members must be based under the


following guidelines:
a. Must be enrolled as Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration Major in Marketing
Management student of the tertiary school
of De La Salle Lipa
b. Must fill up and submit a membership form,
which can be secured from the JMA.

Article 4
Duties and Responsibilities of Members:

The official member should:

Section 1:

Know and uphold this Constitution.

Section 2:

Attend to all regular and emergency meetings


that the Executive Officers and Adviser may
call for.

Section 3:

Actively participate in each and every


activity of the organization

Section 4:

Support the endeavors and advocacies of the


Junior Marketing Association.

Section 5:

Work for the realization of objectives set


forth by the organization in each of its
activity.

Section 6:

Pay for the financial obligations required by


the organization.

Section 7:

Uphold the identity, reputation and ideals of


the Junior Marketing Association.

Article 5
Demotion of Members
Section 1:

Official Members may be demoted or removed by


the following circumstances:

a. Gross neglect of official rules and


responsibilities
b. Culpable violation of this Constitution
c. Malversation of the funds and/or
properties of the Junior Marketing
Association
Section 2:

Demotion or removal of members shall be


approved by the JMA Officers and the Adviser.

Article 6
Rights of Members:
Section 1:

Every member shall have all the rights and


privileges in the organization and have an
equitable share of the fruits of its unitary
labor.

Section 2:

Every member shall have the right to raise


questions regarding the activities of and
every decision by the organization.

Section 3:

Every member shall have the right to suggest


activities, amendments to the constitution,
programs and advocacy campaigns.

Section 4:

Every member shall have the right to file


complaints or appeals regarding activities,
officers, or financial requirements of the
organization, provided that it follows due
process.

Section 5:

Every member shall have the right to vote for


organization officers every election period.

Article 7
Election:
Section 1:

Election of the officers shall be held


annually a week prior to the final
examination in the second semester or on the
date prescribed by the DLSL-COMELEC.

Section 2:

Special elections may be called for as


circumstances warrant.

Section 3:

Only official members are allowed to run for


any position in JMA.

Section 4:

Those who will run for Undersecretary must


have the following qualifications:
a. Must be incoming second year student
b. Must have no failing grades in previous
semester.

Section 5:

The elected Undersecretary is automatically


the Assistant Marketing Director next school
year.

Section 6:

If the Undersecretary refuses to succeed the


Assistant Marketing Director, the said

position shall be declared vacant. The


qualifications for the Assistant Marketing
Director are:
a. Must be an incoming third year student.
b. Must have no failing grades in the
previous semester.
c. Must be a duly elected officer in the
previous office.
Section 7:

The elected Assistant Marketing Director is


automatically the Chief Marketing Director
next school year.

Section 8:

If the Assistant Marketing Director refuses


to succeed the Chief Marketing Director, the
said officer shall be declared vacant. The
disqualifications for the Chief Marketing
Director are:
d. Must be an incoming fourth year student.
e. Must have no failing grades in the
previous semester.
f. Must be a duly elected officer in the
previous office.

Article 8
Officers and their Responsibilities:

Section 1:

The set of officers of the organization shall


be as follows:
a. Chief Marketing Director
b. Assistant Marketing Director
c. Secretary
d. Undersecretary
e. Senior Treasurer
f.

Assistant Senior Treasurer

g. Junior Treasurer
h. Assistant Junior Treasurer
i. Public Relations Director
j. Communications Director
k. Creative Director
l. Events Director
m. Training and Development Director
n. Logistics Director

o. Corporate Social Responsibility Director


Section 2:

The Chief Marketing Director shall:


a. Call and preside over all meeting of the
organization.
b. Lead in carrying out the purpose of the
organization.
c. Receive and review periodic reports of the
Assistant Marketing Director, Secretary,
Senior Treasurer, PR Director,
Communications Director, Creative
Director, Events Director, Training and
Development Director, Logistics Director
and CSR Director.
d. Officially represent the organization in
the school functions and other meetings or
activities outside DLSL.
e. Oversee all projects of the organization.

Section 3:

The Assistant Marketing Director shall:


a. Assume the duties and functions of the
Chief Marketing Director in case of
absence of the latter, incapacitation,
resignation and impeachment from the
office.

b. Perform all the duties and tasks that the

Chief Marketing Director may assign from


time to time.
c. Shall succeed the Chief Marketing Director
after the term of office of the latter or
whenever the position becomes vacant.
Section 4:

The Secretary shall:


a. Keep all records of the organization.
b. Furnish records and file all minutes of
the meetings to the Chief Marketing
Director, adviser and Student Activities
Office.
c. Transfer all papers to his/her successor
at the end of his/her term of office.

d. Perform all the duties and tasks that the


Chief Marketing Director may assign from
time to time.
Section 5:

The Undersecretary shall:


a. Assist the Secretary in keeping,
furnishing and filing the records of the
organization.

b. Perform all the duties and tasks that


Chief Marketing Director and or Secretary
may assign from time to time.

c. Shall succeed the Assistant Marketing


Director after the term of office of the
latter or whenever the position becomes
vacant.
Section 6:

The Senior Treasurer shall:


a. Keep the account of all receipts and
disbursement made thereof.
b. Present financial report of the
organization every regular meeting.
c. Prepare a financial statement at the end
of every semester.
d. Collect payments on and distribute
receipts upon payment to all 4th year
Marketing Management students and those
marketing students with special cases in
every activity of the organization which
requires a specified amount to be paid by
its members.

e. Perform all duties and tasks that Chief


Marketing Director may assign from time to
time.

Section 7:

The Assistant Senior Treasurer shall:


a. Assist the Senior Treasurer in keeping
accounts and disbursements made thereof.
b. Collect payments on and distribute
receipts upon payment to all 3rd year
Marketing Management students in every
activity of the organization which
requires a specified amount to be paid by
its members.

c. Perform all the duties and tasks that


Chief Marketing Director and or Senior
Treasurer may assign from time to time.
Section 8:

The Junior Treasurer shall:


a. Collect payments on and distribute
receipts upon payment to all 2nd year
Marketing Management students in every
activity of the organization which
requires a specified amount to be paid by
its members.

b. Perform all the duties and tasks that


Chief Marketing Director and or Senior
Treasurer may assign from time to time.
Section 9:

The Assistant Junior Treasurer shall:

a. Collect payments on and distribute


receipts upon payment to all 1st year
Marketing Management students in every
activity of the organization which
requires a specified amount to be paid by
its members.

b. Perform all the duties and tasks that


Chief Marketing Director and or Senior
Treasurer may assign from time to time.
Section 10:

The Public Relations (PR) Director shall:


a. Take charge of communicating and building
networks with other organizations (PROF,
SPIN, SCRO) and departments at De La Salle
Lipa and with organizations, associations,
and other groups outside the said
institution.
b. Perform all the duties and tasks that the
Chief Marketing Director may assign from
time to time.

Section 11:

Communications Director:
a. Take charge of communicating and
disseminating all the necessary
information concerning JMA and other
announcements to all its members.

b. Perform all the duties and tasks that the


Chief Marketing Director may assign from
time to time.
Section 12:

The Creative Director shall:


a. Take charge for all the creative materials
to be used by the organization in all its
activities and undertakings (competitions,
announcements, etc.)
b. Perform all the duties and tasks that the
Chief Marketing Director may assign from
time to time.

Section 13:

The Events Director shall:


a. Keep all the documents of each activity of
the organization.
b. Ensure that all documents for every
activity are passed on time to the SAO &
CSO.

c. Monitor the evaluation for every activity


and document all feedbacks for each.

d. Perform all the duties and tasks that the


Chief Marketing Director may assign from
time to time.

Section 14:

The Training and Development Director shall:


a. Take charge of holding conferences,

seminars and other types of training


programs of JMA.
b. Handles all extra-curricular activities
done by the organization.
c. Perform all the duties and tasks that the

Chief Marketing Director may assign from


time to time.

Section 15:

The Logistics Director shall:


a. Take charge in planning, implementing and
controlling the physical flows of
materials and reservation of facilities
and equipment.
b. Perform all the duties and tasks that the
Chief Marketing Director may assign from
time to time.

Section 16:

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)


Director shall:
a. Take charge for all outreach programs,
fund raising activities, and other
endeavours of the organization which seek

to serve the Lasallian community and the


society.
b. Perform all the duties and tasks that the
Chief Marketing Director may assign from
time to time.
Article 9
Tenure and Vacancy:
Section 1:

The term of office of all elected officers of


the organization shall be for one academic
school year.

Section 2:

Any officer of the organization may resign


from his/her position by submitting a letter
of resignation to the Adviser and the Student
Activities Office.

Section 3:

The resignation of any officer shall take


effect upon the approval of the Adviser.

Section 4:

In case the vacancy in any position, anybody


who is capable of handling the position shall
be the one to fill in through a special
election or by appointment by the adviser.

Article 10
The composition, nature and function of the Committee of the
Public Relations Director, Communications Director, Creative

Director, Events Director, Training and Development Director,


Logistics Director and Corporate Social Responsibility Director:
Section 1:

Every committee shall be composed of a


director and 2 members.

Section 2:

The director must choose 2 members from the


organization to be part of his/her committee
for the whole school year. However, the
chosen members will only be part of the
committee once approved by the JMA officers
and the adviser.

Section 3:

The members shall be part of only one (1)


committee in JMA.

Section 4:

The members of the committee shall assist the


director in the exercise of all its functions
and duties.

Article 11
Meetings/Assemblies:
Section 1:

The organization shall have its general


assembly at least once every semester, which
shall be set by the JMA officers with the
approval of its adviser.

Section 2:

A regular weekly JMA officers meeting shall


also be set by themselves with the approval
of the adviser.

Section 3:

Emergency meeting may be called for by the


Chief Marketing Director, any JMA officer or
its Adviser whenever he/she deems it
necessary or upon the request of the majority
of the members.

Section 4:

A meeting shall be called to all the JMA


officers and class officers of marketing
classes every end of the semester for the
evaluation of past activities.

Section 5:

An annual meeting shall be held before the


start of the school year for the purpose of
planning the activities for the next year.

Article 12
Adviser:
Section 1:

He/She must be a faculty member of the


College Department of De La Salle Lipa.

Section 2:

He/She shall act as mentor-consultant on all


the organizations projects, plans and
undertakings.

Section 3:

He/She will also act as counsellor on


problems that his/her group may encounter.

Article 13
Impeachment of JMA Officers:

Section 1:

Any officer of the Junior Marketing


Association may be removed from office based
on any of the following grounds:
a. Culpable violation of this constitution.
b. Malversation of the fund and/or properties
of the JMA.
c. Gross neglect of official duties and
responsibilities.
d. Three (3) consecutive absences or eight

(5) non-consecutive absences from the


regular meeting without valid reasons.
d.1 Valid reasons for absences:
d.1.1 Attending other activities
sponsored by the school.
d.1.2 Death of any of the family
members.
d.1.3 Other reasons which would be
agreed upon by the officer.
Section 2:

At least two-thirds (2/3)of the General


Assembly composed of the board and the
members present in the meeting called for the
purpose shall be required to institute

impeachment proceeding against any Board


Members.
Article 14
Amendments or Revisions:
Section 1:

Proposal for any amendment must be signed by


at least fifty percent (50%) of the official
members. Amendment or revision of these
constitution and by-laws may be yearly.

Article 15
Ratification:
Section 1:

The newly amended constitution shall be


ratified by two-thirds of the members.

Article 16
Effectively:
Section 1:

The amendments or revisions shall take effect


one (1) week after the ratification by twothirds of the members and shall supersede all
previously amend articles and sections.
