Established in 1969, Taylor Products is a leader in the design and

manufacturing of open-mouth bag filling, valve-bag filling and ultrasonic
sealing, bulk-bag loading and unloading, and other robotic equipment.
The Kansas-based company serves agriculture, food, industrial, mineral
and chemical manufacturers with a total systems approach for delivering
packaging machines that perform alone or as fully integrated systems.
At PACK EXPO 2012, Taylor Products will demonstrate its
TRV 1000 robotic valve bag placer, which is engineered to place bags
on multiple machines from multiple positions, and is customizable for
unique applications. Thanks to its partnership with FANUC Robotics, the
placer offers the latest in robotics technology and is designed to mimic
the motion of a human arm, removing the need for an operator to
manually position valve-bags in dusty, dirty or hazardous environments.
The TRV 1000s automation technology provides dry-bulk goods
manufacturers with direct labor savings and improved personnel
scheduling.

Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4 AC Drive

In addition to providing a safe alternative to manual

placing, the TRV 1000 gives manufacturers flexibility
through the machines ability to handle multiple-sized
bags, all with one robot, said Calvin Schnoenbelen,
operations, automation and controls manager at
Taylor Products. Plus, the TRV 1000 has a small footprint,
allowing for maximum versatility when floor space is at a
premium.
For a fully integrated control solution, the TRV 1000 uses
Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4 AC drives and
Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 programmable logic
controllers (PLCs). The AC drives provide closed-loop
control in a compact and cost-effective design, while the
PLCs provide powerful processing in a compact,
cost-effective and easy-to-configure design.

The placer features an Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 1000

human-machine interface (HMI) for operator access to
machine information. The easy-to-view screen displays a
user-friendly interface between the machine and operator
monitoring the placing process. The HMI makes
troubleshooting the TRV 1000 a breeze by displaying
easy-to-follow maintenance manuals filled with rich
graphic and video capabilities.
