Procedure
1. The teacher will pass out the KWL chart to the students.
2. We will discuss what the students know prior to reading the
text and fill it in. then what they want to know about the topic
and plug it in.
3. As a whole group we will begin reading Dr. Martin Luther
Kings speech, which discusses the civil rights movement that
many people surpassed and made significant change in society.
4. As a whole class discussion, we will share what we learned
and what the students will still want to learn more about the
topic and insert it in the appropriate place on the chart.
5. They will submit the KWL chart to the teacher as a
participation grade. Students will finish working on analyzing the
worksheet.
