1)The authors main objective is to provide a detailed overview of what the black people

experience, when they are amongst the white people who believe to be superior to them. In the
first persona, the author goes on to explain comprehensively, what happens to a black man who
has travelled from America to Switzerland on holiday, in a native village with only whites and
consequently his experience while there. In my report below, I aim to analyze and critic the
author and the story at hand.
2) In accordance to the thesis given above, the black race undergoes a lot to fit in and be
regarded as a fellow human being by the other races. In accordance to the author, the whites are
regarded superior to the black man. In an example, the author explains how the whites were
welcomed in the African land with the natives trying to get hold of their hand to see if their
complexion is real. Meanwhile, while the African slaves landed among the whites land, they
were regarded as things and not people. Being asked question whose main intention was to
ridicule them, consequently making them feel inferior. More to that, the persona is severally
regarded as a Negro by the young white children but he can do nothing about it apart from
playing with them and in the process, make them his friends. It is also stated that the Negros had
to receive classes while they were younger, on how to make people love them. The black man
was used as a slave by the white man.
3) The vocabulary identified include; Bistros, Ballet, Chalet.
Bistros; a small night club or restaurant (dictionary.com)
Ballet; a theatrical form of entertainment in which ballet dancing and music are combined to tell
a story as well as establish an emotional atmosphere. (dictionary.com)
Chalet; a cottage or a house, with a similar shape with that built by the herdsmen in the Swiss
Alps. (dictionary.com)
4) The persona explains what the black man looks like to the white man, in a vivid manner that is
exaggerated to a certain level. This makes the text interesting to read.
Either, the persona, who is on a holiday visit, explains how he was standing out and looked like a
cite to the locals. The best part is shown when the innocent children refer to him as a nigger and
instead of getting pissed off, he proceeds to play with them and smile at everybody.

The conclusion is more salient than any other part in the story. The persona explains
comprehensively the importance of racial unity and gives a slight foreshadow of what may
happen in the future according to the racial differences and interactions.
5)
In an explained segment, the author states that the problem that the American-negro faces is to
live along the white Americans who are unable to live with the black Americans for their
complexion. This makes the whites appear like they are against humanity.
Either, in another part, the author explains that the whites regarded themselves the guardians of
the civilization they had introduced. It is further explained that the whites appeared to go against
their rule of supremacy by living alongside the niggers. This segment is not salient as it uses
heavy critical words that pose real scrutiny to the black man if they are really human.
The explanation given by the author, on the ways used by the black man, to get back at the white
man were somewhat opposable. It is true there was hatred in between the two races but the
explanation is underdeveloped since the author states that the black man could only get back to
the whites through robbery and fighting. There were more ways to get back but also, some
preferred to persevere through the slavery.
6) In a nut shell, the author has completely touched on the history of racism affecting the black
man by the whites. It is worth noting the comprehensive explanation given throughout the story
leaving no clarity issues in mind.
7) In accordance to my thoughts, the author is on top of the game when it comes to speaking and
analyzing the issues about races and color. Either, the grammar applied is top quality. But, in the
story, the author explains that he went to the Swiss alps repeatedly. With the racial discrimination
that he faced, why did he go there time and again? Did he want to change their mentality on
racism?
8) The author has rich knowledge on the past about the black man. The way he uses vivid
descriptions, tied with rich grammar, alongside clear history on the subject matter as well as
perfect transition makes this article worth reading time and again.
