Background information:
In Technology Mandatory students undertake a number of projects over 2 years which include products,
systems and built environments. Students in Year 8 Graphics will design and produce a prototype for a
USB design and print it on the 3D printer. Students will use skills developed in class to design
manufacture this using TinkerCAD, and UP software. They will follow PRIME the design process to
document this in a portfolio.

Task Description:

Students will conduct follow the Design Process to design and make and evaluate a Prototype
USB cover (Problem, Research, Ideas, Make and Evaluate).

Students will complete a portfolio which describes each step of their design process

Students will undertake practical projects in a safe manner and demonstrate safe working
practices

Your teacher will provide in class experiences and work in order for you to complete these tasks

Students must complete all tasks in class in order to achieve the highest possible grades

Students wishing to achieve a grade of outstanding should see their teacher for extension work
