BEING A WORKER IN GODS VINEYARD

Key Verse: 20:6 About the eleventh hour he went out and found still others standing
around. He asked them, why have you been standing here all day long doing
nothing?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for your Mercy and love towards me a sinner
Part One: God the diligent Owner of the Vine Yard.
Verse 1 starts with a pointing out an outstanding character of God. It says For the
Kingdom of heaven is like a land owner who went out early in the morning to hire
men to work in His Vineyard, God Almighty is depicted as the owner of the Vine
yard, Despite His ownership, He still gets up early to go and take care of His
Vineyard, From this I see Gods hard work attitude, what then should be my attitude
as His Child? I too must be hard working especially in His vine Yard, Often times
Jesus taught that He had to Work and finish the Work of His master before darkness
came, At an early age our Lord Jesus Christ had already set His mind on Working in
His Fathers Vine Yard, When His family had gone for the national census, He lingered
back and ran straight to the temple to Work in His Fathers vine yard. When Mary
and Joseph found Him, They rebuked Him, But in response He asked them, Didnt
you know I must be about my Fathers business? This all reveled Gods attitude of
being a Work and requiring that we His children bear the same trait.
Part Two: Why do you stand here doing nothing? (Verses 3-8)
Having woken up early to look after His Vine Yard, The master called and sent
laborers to Work in His vine Yard, Some He sent early and often went out to hire
more to work in His vine Yard. In verse 6; He asked a group of laborers He found,
Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?
This same very question comes to me as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I have had a
struggle of living a mission life, even when I seem to be serving God, when I sit
down and look at my life, my schedules, my priorities, my treasures, Working in
Gods Vine yard seem not to be amongst them. I seem to be doing nothing, I am
busy doing nothing. But the MASTER in His rich mercy and grace has not given up
on me, He still gives Me His Mercies and grace every Morning, He still pardons and
Has Faith in Me, Most importantly He calls me to Go and labour in His vine yard.
I pray that I will not turn down His invitation to go and Work in His Vine Yard. The
current world system seems to despise and under look Gods laborers because of
the current system, But I pray that in the midst of this wicked World, I will hearken
the Lords Appointment to work in His Vine Yard.
Part three: Gods generous Reward: (vs11-16)
Our Lord is too gracious and generous at the time of reward; all the laborers
received their agreed pay. I thought about the parable of the talents when it came

tp rewards, what struck my mind was the last servant who buried the Masters
talent, I should hearken to the Lords call if am to receive a reward from the MASTER.
One Word: Do not stand there doing nothing.
