Priority Recommendations

We recommend an increase of at least $1,500 to the current base salary of

$29,202 and an increase of $1,000 to the current minimum salary of $33,000.

We recommend the extension of indexing in Columns III through VII to include

an additional three steps. We recommend extending indexed steps through
Step 30 on Column VIII. We recommend that all of these additional index
steps be at the 1% increase level.

We recommend that the Board continue to maintain employee benefits at their

current level or better.

Recommendations
d ti

We recommend that the Board work with teachers

teachers, support staff
staff, and
administrators following the compensation study to develop a multi-year plan
for compensation packages that will make Columbia Public Schools attractive
to educators and truly competitive with comparative districts. The CCTA
Salary
y Committee will continue to investigate
g
the concept

schedule.

We recommend that the Board continue to tie administrative salary increases

to staff salary increases.

We recommend the district honor the local portion of the career ladder
payment.

We recommend the Board grant credit for up to 12 years of prior teaching

experience to new hires and continue to increase this on a yearly basis.

We support the recommendations of the Stipend Committee.
