REMARKS
Measure lengths to cut as required. Cut 2 by the band
saw and 2 by hand using a Tennon saw. Including top
and base

On 2 pieces of the required cut length, mark and rule


rebate joints to 6mm width. Using dove tail saw to
remove waste component of wood. Use chisel to
remove smaller and more intricate work. File if
necessary.

On the other 2 sides remaining, mark housing joints,


12mm width, ensuring for a clean fit for the divider. Cut
as necessary using dove tail saw. And chisel to remove
waste wood.

Rebate the bottom of all 4 side pieces of wood to the


required measurement of 6 mm. ensure the rebate pace
is on the correct measurements before working on actual
work, do this on a waste piece of wood. \

Dry clamp box together and check for squareness using


try square and ruler. Move box and adjust if necessary to
ensure the wood is parallel.

Glue the sides together using PVA glue. Attach the


clamps for support to ensure a clean fitting box. Adjust if
necessary using ruler and try square for squareness \

Cut to required side to fit on the inside of box framework


using the band saw. Sand sides if required to

Glue base onto frame working using the same methods


and techniques as above ensure excess glue is whipped
of framework before it dries

Sand box using 180, and 120 grain paper to allow for
smoothness. (include top)

Mark appropriate markings for the position of hinges,


placing them on the end of the framework. Screw in
screws using the fitted screw driver.

Using a rag lightly apply finish to storage box. Apply


second cote if necessary

Cut out felt to required shape, glue and stick in base on


inside of box.
