How a mass deportation can affect the economy

Forcibly removing millions of workers will be economically devastating and lead to a decline of
hundreds of billions of dollars in private sectors. By dramatically expanding the immigrationenforcement to deport about 11 million people would cost the US an estimated 400 billion
dollars to 600 billion. Not only that but removing millions of people would also be removing
roughly 6.8 mllion workers from the labor force.
Removing all the workers would then have a
huge effect on industries which may make
certain jobs disappear because some
industries depend upon filling in some jobs
with immigrant workers. Which would end
up costing industries hundreds of billions of
dollars. Overall removing them would cost
the private sector to decline by about 381.5
billion and 623.2 billion which is about 2.9
to 4.7 percent reduction.
By removing the entire undocumented
workers in the U.S. would wipe out a chunk
of American economy roughly about the
size of the annual gross domestic product of
Texas. After removing the undocumented it
would take around 315 billion in higher
enforcing cost just to keep them from
coming back. Removing them would mean
that the economy would be nearly 6 percent
smaller. Which works out to be a lost in
wages of 1.6 trillion. Even if we do get rid
of the illegal immigrant workers it wouldnt
mean we would be paid more. Infact quite
the contrary could happen. Simply because
undocumented workers fill in the low
paying spots and leave the Americans with
higher paying jobs. Americans could also
see fewer jobs. Simply because removing
them would increase the native unemployment rate for unskilled workers by about 1.13 percent.
Which would come as employers labor cost for unskilled workers increase, prompting them to
create fewer jobs.Lastly the social security fund would take a hit. Undocumented workers
contribute 13 billions in payroll taxes. In 2013 a social security administration study from 2013
found. They accessed about 1 billion in benefits. Which makes a 12 billion contribution
nonexistent.
