Research Paper
The U.S needs a system where potential citizens can find out where they are in the
naturalization process. There are so many problems for our naturalization process. For example
if you knew about the registration requirement and refused to put your name in, U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) can deny your application for naturalized
citizenship. (Bray, Ilona, J.b. "Naturalization Eligibility for Men Who Failed to Register With
the Selective Service. Failing to Register for Potential Military Service Can Ruin Your Showing
of Good Moral Character. Another example is If you are older than age 26 you no longer can
register for selective citizenship, however you can still qualify for a citizenship depending on
how many years have passed since you were supposed to register and how many years of good
character you need to show. (Failing to Register for Potential Military Service Can Ruin Your
Showing of Good Moral Character. The last reason is there are certain requirements you need to
meet before even thinking about becoming a naturalized citizen. (Uscis. "Naturalization

need your name so they know that you arent an illegal immigrant. That is why we have green
cards. If you put in a fake name with a fake ID and USCIS finds out you will most likely not
qualify for your citizenship, especially since your character is part of the naturalization process.

Good character is an import thing. We all get judged on our character, however they get judged
more than anyone else. The reason why is because we have to see and make sure that they are
not a threat. These days we cant trust anyone. You have to be at least 18 to fill out Form N-400,
Application for Naturalization and also be a permanent resident with a green card for at least 5 years.
(Uscis. "Naturalization Information." Naturalization Information.)

There are certain requirements you need to meet before even thinking about becoming a
naturalized citizen. (Uscis. "Naturalization Information." Naturalization Information.) In order
to become a naturalized citizen you need to be at least 18 years old at the time of filing Form N400, Application for Naturalization, a permanent resident (have a Green Card) for at least 5
years, show that you have lived for at least 3 months in the state or USCIS district where you
apply, demonstrate continuous residence in the United States for at least 5 years immediately
preceding the date of filing Form N-400, Show that you have been physically present in the

United States for at least 30 months out of the 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing
Form N-400, Be able to read, write, and speak basic English, have a basic understanding of U.S.
history and government (civics), and demonstrate an attachment to the principles and ideals of
the U.S. Constitution. ("Naturalization Information." USCIS.)
An applicant will also take an English and civics test unless he or she qualifies for an
exemption or waiver. ("Naturalization Information." USCIS.)
This is a counterexample because they are not doing everything they are supposed to do. Why
do only certain people get this waiver? What makes them so special?
